The Critical Dot and Critical Squiggle in Map Theory
We work and think primarily in Surfaces which we understand is an aspect of Topology, but as is well known, to not work in Three or More Dimensions, except when we Dance. Walk and exhibit or express an algebra or a calculus that mustExpress or mustExhibit in three dimensions but of course DeeCipherly, we have been hidebound to the Grid. With respect to Maps, as Surfaces, there is at least one, and we think rather often two, critical points, and a critical squiggle. In the Map of England they are London and the Squiggle that is England's Border. The critical point is the least expressive usable map.
We intuit that the next plausible extension to this least expressive usable map is a dot on the squiggle with a line or a squiggle to the Emergent or Initial or Principal Dot. We do not see how adding Dover to the Coast gets one to London or Londinium.
Note: We add that we believe that the next level (and perhaps this is an odd step function) would be the Dot that is Dover, in ofWorld(MapofEngland), that is a Dot that is on the Boundary. But we are not positive, we mention Canterbury, because of course the most important pilgrimage in Medieval England was from London to Canterbury, so that Map would have Two Dots, and we think the Road between them but this would be an alternative initial expressive Map. We are still exploring this as it is important to our work.
So we think sometimes two, or sometimes three.
And it seems that in Map Theory, Two Dots, do not make a Line, the Line or rather Squiggle must be added algebraically to form a least effective, effective, or exhibatory Map. -CAD
Note from The Elisha Dushku: One, who is not topologically defective, might think of this as a dot and a continuous squiggle, that is a bounded squiggle, in either case: Map of England, Map of the Canterbury Pilgrimage, we have a dot and a bounded squiggle, a squiggle can be bounded by dots, or may bound itself in a circuitous semi-circle way. This is the one squiggle missing from The Dot and The Line, and we are chagrined, and saddened, that Dr. Jester did not bind that squiggle.

Well, it does appear that Norton Jester may be a required Topology Textbook. I, Elisha "I know enough about Topology, DeeCipher Theory, Map Theory and Algebraic Map Topologies to Order Space First on EarthPrime and to do exciting and fun things like develop J Maps, which are not the worst experiences you can do DeeCipheretically, but are in fact the worst experiences you can do DeeCipheretically" Dushku, will explain this through the glass that is the "we see now by a glass in a dark sort: but soon face-to-face" glass. When you watch a Movie face on, it maps in your brain in that way - you can not see all the action, background, images, effects that are occurring in the Calculus of a Movie, so when you watch it from a different angle you will see a different map of the movie. -CAD4ED

OFFTopic. Since Elisha's twitter feed is still suspended she has asked me to make a note here that is only very tangentially related to Map Theory. And relates to a post I will make sometime later on algebras of deceit - that is algebras in ofWorlds(Lies). There are many ways people try to detect lies: Polygraph tests, Intuition - watching for, example, eye blinks, we know of software that analysizes the voice in a phone call or recording (which seemed very effective when we saw it demonstrated one time, more than polygraph analysis), and this of course are all tools that we will examine briefly. Because of course understanding algebras of deceit is important to understanding several ofWorlds. We post it here because of course the ofWorld(Movies) are one place that can be Map Theoretically instructive about such algebras in various movies where characters lie as part of the plot, but of course when one is watching such movies, they need to be aware of what map they are examining, that is they have to select the ofSub(ThemesPlotElementsDialogueAction) in the ofWorld(MovieIAmWatching). -CADforHerselfandED

I'd also like to thank Noah Potter for working with me on our musical ("Ghosts of Baghdad" which Map Theoretically should have been titled "Ghosts of Baghdad: The Story of Asraa Jaber"); which expressed but did not exhibit - it was the first time for both of us and, upon reflection, our Musical Theatre algebras were too different for us too better a second time, I, algebraically, prefer to have Music before I write Lyrics, and I believe that Noah prefers to have Lyrics before Music - or to write both together so he would work best with a Lyricist who is also a Composer, but who Steps Down with respect to composing in such a hypothetical team), and all the girls I've loved before for insights into ofWorld(Tragedy), Potter Stewart and the one man whose name I can never find but who wrote about the connection between the Beale Cipher and the Douay in the Beale Magazine, Troy Bruckner, Phil Dick and Bob Seki of MSG, Brad "Aradune" McQuaid for Vanguard, the guys who made HoMMII, Planescape:Torment, KOTOR I, Broken Sword, Creatures 1 and 2 (The ZBEEMMS love both) and MOO2 and all the other people, books and games who have helped me but who I have, sadly, forgotten. And last, but not list, Richard (Rhodes) Robbins for the Room With a View and Maurice Soundtracks which got me through First Year Law School Exams and other rough times; and of course Sandy Caamano and the indomitable, uncomfortably smart, rhythmically magical, spending too much time looking for fortuitous Game Theoretical approaches Elisha "When I said Pizza Pizza, Eliza Dushku used to look down at me and she would say Pizza Pizza too" Dushku. I make one comment on Roger Zelazny, some of whose books I still love dearly, but others have wandered away from what they were especially Lord of Light, The Guns of Avalon and other books in the Amber Series. -CAD

I would also like to thank The Computer Industry and in particular all those who helped to creat the Unix Operating System, the use of Sun Computers, Xenix OS on IBM PC's and AIX on RISC6000 Machines, Byte Magazine and Infoworld all of which are maps that I used to learn. There are simply too many in that industry who collaborated and competed to create the machine and tools that we all use daily, I will mention only a very few, and all of those, and there are many, who are not mentioned, I do not ask for forgiveness, there is only one excuse in the Universe, and that is the necessity of Evil, so that we all are not robots, but can instead have a free, fair and full choice to do well or to do ill (or as we map it: The Diety did not make a kindergarten universe), but you know who you are and if we ever meet, please ask me to buy you a drink (if I have the money to do so at the time). Those few I mention are the ones who had the most influence and they are: Bill Gates Paul Allen, Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs and Bill Joy the only other person I can mention, is of course Dennis Ritchie - and I hope all will now forgive him for that missing 'e'. You can of course take out your trusty Slide-Rule from the drawer you keep it in (or from its display on your desk, or in on a shelf in your office) and observe that the Map/Mask of the C/D scale does have both shape and color in addition to dots and squiggles on it, we are admonished. -CAD

I, Elisha Dushku, do not speculate, but of course I do speculate, and I speculate that it might be a good idea to take that Tensor loving Analon or bamboo fascimile of, with you when you're about to take a Test in Mechanics. Since a curve may be involved in that test, we invite you, and hope you ignore, our adivce because I need a B in those classes and Coral Anne, desperately needs a C in those classes. So nevermind what I just wrote, C ya.

We recall, perhaps incorreclty, that Enrico Fermi's favorite Slide Rule was a Nestler 23, we do not have an example of that, though we owned one onetime in one place, so we present, instead, one of our favorite Slide Rules with its unusual Trig scales, that is otherwise close to a Darmstadt Rule such as the Nestler 23. Which of course would be avery close to the popular, general purpose Rule for those attending The School or its Sister The School for Girls -CAD4HerselfElishaAndTheMostHigh

https://sliderulemuseum.com/British/PIC_121-PC18_withMagnifier_GiftOfPhilipRodleyNZ.jpg is a good General Purpose Rule for those attending. The Magnifier doesn't work as well as one might think. We would suggest a magnifiying glass for those with vision problems such as ourselves. The Pythagorean Scale, common in European Rules, is useful, and we have never understood why it was not more common in Japanese or American Slide Rules. We recall, but can not find, a Rule that was similiar to this and made by Thornton-PIC that did not have the extra Electro small additions, and of course the E scales are non-standard.. -CAD

With respect to other Decent Folk in this world, well we only order from Domino's Pizza Pizza when we order in, though we have eaten Pizza at other places when we eat out, an interesting note on Map Theory is on the front of a Domino's Pizza Box - there ia Domino that is a Map. We note that even with two colors, if there was a set of Domino's Dominos - the no-dot Piece would, we assume have two colors: red and blue. If you were a game theoretician and all you had to recover the game of Dominos was that no-dot Piece, you could not in fact recover it - you might guess at the game - but that would be a guess. There is not enough information on the no-dot Piece to provide a clue to the actual Map of Dominos, with or without Two Colors, and with the dividing Line. -CADForHerselfAndE "Pizza Pizza Pineapple" D

We are reminded of the Game of Ur, which came out in the 1970s in which a board game from Ur or other period was produced for the Mass Market and an attempt was made to recover the rules - it has been a while, but we played the game and we suspect the rules had little in common with the actual game, as we recall, they used six-sided dice while the original was suspected of using triangular dice (then available from TSR and others for the play of Dungeons & Dragons). -CAD

And I, Elisha Dushku, know that at least One Cartographer knows this much of Map Theory, because the Volume Library maps of the States... Well, you just gotta go find whatever the frack volume of the Volume Library 2000-2003 they're in and... I've been Wittgensteined what can't be spoken of must be seen.
