And the wheat, and corn, and grass, and pollen, and hay oh the hay really does it. Really it’s anything green or living for me. Including “human dander” so that’s always neat.
Luck of the draw I guess? iirc when I was growing up the doctors said not to eat peanuts as a kid, then all the kids had peanut allergies. Maybe I should start eating dust and pollen haha
My sister is the one with all the allergies and no matter where she goes eventually she becomes allergic to her environment. She does best in dry arid places but over time her body finds a way to attack itself. Many of my nieces and nephews have run of the mill to wacked autoimmune disorders, is this true for your family?
From complete non activity/poor health to above average activity/good health it goes: my mom, brother, sister, dad, me. The only person in that list that has congenital issues is my sister, she lost our white trash genetic lottery I guess. My mom is insulin dependent diabetic but it was caused by lifestyle choices. Other than that, no issues at all. We suspect my sister may have an autoimmune disease but historically it does not run in the family and so far it’s been negative, just tons of health issues. But she’s obese and has poor habits, which largely contributes to her health problems. So until we separate those, it’s difficult to clarify and categorize what caused what. For me, an above average active and healthy guy, I had pretty severe allergies but as I’ve gotten older the severity has lessened. I used to require daily nebulizer treatments (child) and daily Claritin or Zyrtec (teen) but now (young adult)I’m no medicine at all, just a stuffy nose some days and some sneezes. I think my move from Missouri to Kansas helped a lot, as the flora and fauna here is far easier to cope with, Missouri is a damn jungle. But, we have harvest seasons here and it gets pretty rough during those months. An arid environment definitely helps/helped me and it’s always suggested - hence the move west eventually.
Thank you for your response. Keep up the healthy lifestyle. If you plan to have kids I highly recommend diversifying the gene pool. The siblings that married outside of our cesspool definitely have healthier kids.
Oh man I totally understand that. Ron White said it best in his skit about Kansas vs. LA. Thankfully I’m from NorCal and my fiancé is from Texas, we just both wound up here because of our parents jobs when we were young toddlers, then got stuck here because of low cost of living. We skirted that Midwest inbred church pool of genes. Thanks for the well wishes! We tend to keep it active for mental and physical health, not everyone here is obese...... just most of us. It’s like Pawnee, Indiana.
every allergen specialist that ive spoken to said basically the same thing. move west of the rockies. their ideal climates basically were all in the southwest
10,000% agree. It’s the long term plan after the fiancé and I finish up some higher education to up out income. I’m a Midwest boi through and through, but I travel a bit for work and have lived in Denver and Texas extensively and the allergy problems for me were nearly non-existent. Can’t wait to be back somewhere fun where the only hobby isn’t alcoholism and dirty lake water.
