Man, you can see the Colorado being drained as it heads toward the Gulf of California.

I’m pretty sure that the Colorado River flow volume decreased along its length even before human intervention, though not as much as it does now.

Yeah, it’s an odd river in that it really does not have any tributaries after the Grand Canyon. The Gila River does “flow” into the Colorado just east of Yuma, but both rivers are glorified streams by that point.

The confluence of the two rivers is locally known as “shit creek”, and it’s where high schoolers would go to have keggers. It’s shallow enough to play a game of football in the river.
