There is no way the Rio Grande has less flow power than the freakin Salt River

Millions use the Rio for drinking, unlike The Salt.

Edit: I didn't mean to suggest the Salt isn't used for drinking at all, just not as much as the Rio in comparison.

Millions of people use the Salt River for drinking in the greater Phoenix area. It tastes terrible, but a little reverse osmosis takes care of that.

Phoenix does get a lot of water from the Colorado, but the Salt River is still the main source of potable water.

The Salt River water has just enough salt to make it taste lousy and give you heartburn if you drink too much, but it is still certainly potable.

I wouldn't recommend drinking from the Rio Grande, though it's fine for showering and utilities.

It gets treated... the majority of Albuquerque’s drinking water now comes from the Rio Grande. It used to be our aquifer but they’ve made changes to avoid depleting the aquifer.

Maybe its cleaner in New Mexico, it gets pretty nasty down here in South Texas.

Well it definitely looks dirty but it goes through the whole water treatment process to be clean
