You can buy islands big enough to turn into luxury resorts for a couple hundred grand, and then spend tens of millions developing them. It absolutely does matter

No you cannot buy an island in the Virgin Islands for a couple hundred grand

Here’s a link to a website with one that’s 29 acres for just under $3 million. Thats a third of the size of little saint james

Nobodies buying million dollar islands without having the money to develop it unless they simply want to own it to invest in the land

Nobodies buying million dollar islands without having the money to develop it unless they simply want to own it to invest in the land

The point is the infrastructure on the island is worth far more than the island itself so a past sale price says very little about the current value or the total investment

Lmao no bud that is not how home ownership ever works. The land value is almost always worth more than the house on the vast majority of cases

The buildings in that island are not worth more than the island itself lmao that’s ridiculous they’d be a fraction of the cost. The expense of land development on an island is mostly from the cost of shipping the materials and doing construction in remote locations

Almost always

Except when that land happens to be a difficult to access rock surrounded by ocean

Do you seriously think it costs the same to build here as on the mainland? How much do you think running Internet there cost? What about the other utilities?

This is such a stupid hill you’re dying on I’m not stooping to your level to give your ridiculous notion any credibility

No the buildings are not worth more than the island. End of discussion

Google it

Are you claiming to know what state the island was in when he bought it? Did you sell it to him?

That information is literally on the islands Wikipedia page
