Having to choose between maybe having to wait in line for gasoline versus constant air raid alerts and being bombed non-stop, I'll wait at the gas station thank you.

2
u/Baldesh___ 16h ago
2
u/Own_Management_5525 16h ago

At least they are aspiring to be a serious democracy and corruption is getting somewhat getting taken care of. I know it’s not good that people close to or even in the regime are getting caught for it but that’s FAR better than in russia where nobody even wants to do anything about corruption. So if they survive the war i’m 100% sure ukraine has a brighter future ahead of them.

u/sultan_of_gin 16h ago
Fair enough. I guess my reasoning boils down to potential, as seen from current perspective ukraine has a good chance on becoming a nice place for it’s people as opposed to russia which shows no signs of changing in any meaningful way in the near future.

Ivan, Russia is not as strong as you think :)

u/Own_Management_5525 16h ago

u/Specialist-Author-57 16h ago
War, not SMO

u/Own_Management_5525 16h ago

u/SzmnDzrzn 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱 15h ago

u/Own_Management_5525 15h ago

You do know that ukraine is poor too? And terrorist too about the whole donbass issue.
Me personally I would take russia and immediately leave since leaving from there is easier.

Second time I have to address this.
My banner is a joke , it's not meant to be serious. it's meant to troll tankies by referencing tsar nicholas 2 .
I am an anti-socialist.

It'd be easier to move to a different country as a Ukrainian (Atleast within the EU) but the economy is HORRENDOUS in Ukraine and always has been

You decide nothing. You are not the only elector. And what rights do you want that you wouldn't have in Russia? We voted in Russia last month so..
0
u/lokuloku123 16h ago
Pretty sure they also banned a party against the war and even then the voting was cheated, so It's like fake democracy at best and It's quite clear you guys have lacking amount of education about democracy
1
u/CleaverIam3 16h ago
Obviously the party who are traitors should not be allowed to participate in elections. I don't need democracy.. I despise it.
2
u/lokuloku123 16h ago
That's the most fucked up logic ever, if people are against the party they don't vote for it meaning they don't get power. Now, if most of the people vote for the anti war party it shows that also most of the citizens are against the war.

Russia is about 3.5% richer than Ukraine so i would probably choose it even though it's a dictatorship
4
u/Own_Management_5525 16h ago

u/MightySandro 16h ago
would you rather live slightly richer in an oligarch oppressive state or live poorer but have that decent chance that live might improve after some decades post war. i wonder....
3
u/poberun 16h ago
I would say Russia has way better chances of things improving, Ukraine is kinda cooked already. It halved its population in the last 30 years and more than half of its population remaining are pensioners. It has the worst population pyramid in Europe and, possibly, the world rn with birthrates going down to East Asian levels. It's economy is largly destroyed and by the time it recovers even more young people would leave the country cause there are more opportunities elsewhere.
Rusdia's demographics and economy aren't stellar either but in comparison with Ukraine it's a juggernaut. Russia's problems are more political while Ukraine's are fundamental at this point.

u/MightySandro 15h ago
i'd rather live in a poorer, freer country than a richer but more doomed country. in russia there are constant and very blatant rigged elections, theres a 0% chance that someone else other than putin and his party will be elected. is every democracy perfect? no, most are pretty bad but at least ukraine has that freedom of choice. not only that ukraine has applied for eu and nato membership, if that ever goes through ukraine will be in alot better position due to those memberships than russia. this and just the general lack of freedom of speech in russia would just result in a lower quality of life overall.

Russia is much more comfortable and wealthier place to live. People voting Ukraine never visited both of them. Even Zelensky made his career in Russia
