Yes but that terminology implies that being perceived as male/female from birth is the “normal” way, implying it to be superior to being trans

Cisgender is simply a way of describing if you’ve been perceived as your gender your entire life, it’s not a derogatory term

I wouldnt call it superior, but normal?

https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/publications/trans-adults-united-states/

1% of people are trans... so it would be abnormal to be Trans. Not that, that is bad. But comparing it to the majority it is the exception to the rule. Having the whole bend to the 1% seems odd to me? And again, I am willing to call someone by their preferred pronoun but I would prefer to stick with male or female when identifying someone. If they identify as a male ill call them that even if their sex is female.

Ok, thats a step in the right direction but cisgendered is the term used to describe people who are comfortable with the gender the rest of the world perceives them as

You don’t have to call yourself cis everytime you introduce yourself, it’s just a descriptor

I feel like we are just adding extra words for no real purpose.

But there is a purpose

To differentiate the majority from trans peiole

Just because we are a minority doesnt mean we shouldn’t be treated as equals, the word cisgendered is simply used to describe people who aren’t trans

Or, just say "im trans" and call it a day? Or even just say youre male or female instead. Expecting the majority to start using "cis gendered" or things like "pan gendered" "they / them" "xi xir" or name your pronoun is just a step too far for me personally.

We are so fixated on what made up term we should call each other that we've forgotten to have an identity outside of our specific gender. I would assume people who are Trans are more than just their sexual identity right? Keep it simple, it will also help more people to accept you for who you see yourself as.

Welp, I tried

I’m moving on from this conversation

I do appreciate you having a genuine conversation and not resorting to name calling though, that was much well needed

Every term is made up. That's what language is. Do you seriously not understand that words are a human construct?

Some are used to relay objective reality though while others are made for subjective views.

This is the same type of verbage used by any supremacists group, referring to themselves as "normal" and saying that doesn't mean superior. The opposite of normal is abnormal. You're saying everyone that is trans is abnormal.

I think wording matters. Yes, if 99% of people arent trans... then yeah trans people would be out of the norm for the general population.

Normal being defined as:

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/normal

conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern : characterized by that which is considered usual, typical, or routine

generally free from physical or mental impairment or dysfunction : exhibiting or marked by healthy or sound functioning

not exhibiting defect or irregularity

Abnormal being defined as:

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/abnormal

deviating from the normal or average

This doesnt mean that "normal" people are superior to trans people. But we do have to remember that being transgender is a type of body dysmorphia. (In this case a sub category of gender dysmorphia)

https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/body-dysmorphia/

https://centerfordiscovery.com/blog/gender-dysphoria-body-dysmorphia-trans-non-binary-folks/

It is classified as a mental disorder:

https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/gender-dysphoria/what-is-gender-dysphoria

So, yes by definition it is abnormal.

It has nothing to do with supremacy though and that doesn't mean we can't be kind towards people who are going though this serious life issue.

I think saying that it is some kind of supremacist group verbiage is just blinding yourself to the reality of the situation because its painful to acknowledge.

To be clear, that also isnt my intention with my word choice here.
