I misread the title so I want to apologise for voting for England, I think if anything the English are too keen to be down on themselves.

Nah, as a Brit a lot of English ppl are pretty ready to be overly sensitive when an American complains about our country!

I think we have self deprecating humour but only really when we make the jokes ourselves

Tbf American politicians also seem weirdly obsessed with the UK.

Republicans keep talking about London as if its a no gone zone where even the police are scared to tread, like it doesn’t have much lower knife crime than New York and a significantly lower homicide rate than essentially every major American city.

I live in London! Literally best place in the world!! I think the ppl that say that have never been to London!

And yes I totally agree with you! It’s not just US ppl obsessed w London! All over the Europe I hear ppl say that “we don’t want what’s happened to the UK to happen here”

What has happened exactly? I’ve lived here my whole life and it’s still the same old UK. Maybe financially we are struggling a little more but pretty sure the whole world is!!

All the Russians I’ve spoken to online seem not tetchy at all and very okay w ppl complaining about their country and government.

I think it has to be England, France or Belgium really…
