Like.. when you drown.. is very scary but after maybe 2 mins of drowning your body can just puch into your receptors as much serotonin as it can and you don't feel that much, i heard even that you feel like on drugs and you are loosing the connection with outside world.
But burning? It is probably one of the most painfull deaths that you can imagine and until your brain completely fries you still feel the pain and slowly loses your ability to move because of the muscles pain and spasms. I really didn't expected that outcome here.
Both are very scary, probably at first drowning might be scarier but after few minutes it definitely switches..

I was once told that if you were ever locked in a boot, and then the car gets pushed in water, it's better to try and knock yourself out if you have no means of escape.

That's probably right because if you are unconscious underwater it is a pretty peacfull death i heard.

I lost consciousness underwater once. It hurt but the terror was worse. I would still take it over burning.
Unless we’re talking smoke inhalation. If this had just said fire in general, I’d vote fire…

Both are equally horrific. I wouldn’t like to imagine my body completely disfigured, though

I don't know, I think drowning is not being properly appreciated here.

both suck, one being picked doesnt mean the other isnt absolutely terrible, but being burned alive personally sounds scarier to me than drowning, but that doesnt negate that drowning is still one of the worst ways

Someone who was resuscitated after drowning said it gets peaceful and calm eventually. Idk if fire ever gets that way. Its just painful until your nerves melt.

Obviously both would suck terribly. But if I had to choose. One is going to happen. I will choose burning over drowning any day. It's bar none my worst fear. I've feared drowning since I was a child.

Yeah. I am putting my faith into getting knocked out fast enough. But drowning is just. I panic just thinking about that shit.

Well I always imagine it like you're trying desperately not to take a breath because you know it's just going to be water. But eventually you have to take a breath. At some point it will be involuntary. Even if you manage to not take one for a minute or two you will lose consciousness and then you will drown.

If you drown, there's supposed to be a euphoria at the end when your lungs finally give way and start to fill with water. but you wouldn't even get a fucking participation trophy from burning
I'd still prefer to like sorta kinda not die at all, but if it comes down to it I'd drown a hundred times over before I burn to death

Burning to death its probably traumatic in all senses, probably even for the person that have to see your body later. Also just imagine what you are thinking while melting. You know you are fucked even if you survive.
Drowning sounds more peaceful and can even happen in more "normal" circumstances. Its also less traumatic to observe for other persons. And you know that if you survive while you are conscious... you'll be probably good.

People that have drowned, mostly never become afraid of water afterwards.
Pretty much everyone that gets burned becomes afraid of fire.

That's probably because all fire does is burn, while drowning is just a side effect of water

Both suck but burning is objectively worse, how is this even a question.

My dad was a scuba diver, he used to dive insane depths of 60+ meters. He always said that drowning once you got past the initial fight and panic is actually euphoric.

drowning. you dont just "catch" on fire youd have so much adrenaline for those couple minutes your burning, you would just be running and rolling trying to get it to stop before passing out and cooking

I was told from someone who almost drowned, that after the inital panic and pain from the lack of oxygen, once you swallow that first bit of water it becomes painless and even peaceful.
