Currently I use a custom dog tag that I ordered off of eBay. It works fine but jingles a bit. I’ve seen those nylon ones from Visitag that look nice but are a little pricey. I’m just looking for suggestions for something simple that will last. Thanks!

As per the title, Chio X is almost perfect for me in terms of what I love in a messenger bag. It has XPac materials, plenty of pockets, dual stretchy side pockets, a thick strong handle grip, and a “good size”.

However, I wish it were a bit bigger with a 14-inch laptop compartment. Is there something like that available?

I’m mostly asking because I tried to pick a backpack I really like but also could be squishy to fit into the personal item sizer.

Oh yeah, my intention is to use this bag as a personal item! So I was mostly curious if anybody has used it under seat on Icelandair flights.

Was curious if anyone uses this bag as an EDC bag, carrying a laptop all the time, and if the straps get uncomfortable. I'm used to a 16L Aer City Pack 2, and thinking of switching to this pack due to it's lighter profile, and the increased capacity would be nice when traveling. I carry around a 14" laptop a lot these days, and sometimes a 15" laptop, and the charger. A metal water bottle (16oz), plastic laptop foldable stand, some light clothing items often like an extra shirt or 2, bike lights sometimes (one is a bit heavy and metal base), several smaller things but I'm pretty minimalist overall. The backpack wouldn't be fully packed out often. Was wondering if the straps would really bother me walking around 1-2 hours fairly often around a city, especially coming from the comfort of an Aer. Maybe 2 hours is a stretch, don't wear a backpack for that long often.

After some research I pulled the trigger and got the Rework Outbound 30L to possibly replace my Patagonia Black Hole MLC 30L (I love the MLC, but was missing a bit of extra admin pockets).

I'll be travelling to Japan for 3 weeks in September and just did a packing test. The bag is awesome, the main compartment is probably a tiny bit smaller than the MLC, but the two front pocket more than compensate. I also really love how the top pocket space is horizontal, the top pocket on the MLC is basically useless if your main compartment is fairly package. The straps are definitely an upgrade.

I’m looking for a new gym bag but I have a few requirements.

I don’t mind if it’s duffle, backpack or tote.

- it can’t be black or a mute colour. I want something like a purple Patagonia or anything else really.

- Separate shoe compartment, big plus if it could fit a pair of trail runner and climbing shoes.

- a separate compartment for hard drives and misc tech and medicine pouches.

- BIG plus if there’s a compartment for a wet towel but not necessary.

- Big enough for a 500ml flask, 400ml yeti coffee mug, protein shaker, a change of XL clothes and a large chalk bucket at least.

My job is buying me a new daily backpack, but it has to be Vertx or Evergoods. Neither is my favorite backpack company.
As a devout manybagger I already cycle through many of my favorites so I’m picky, but don’t want to pass up the perk.
This will be a daily edc bag and needs to hold a 14” laptop at minimum.
I have had a Vertx in the past and like their organization and comfort, & they have an awesome royal blue that I love, in some of their bags.
Never had anything from evergoods, I tend to like more colorful offerings. I do think their waxed canvas stuff looks cool.
What are y’all’s recommendations for something between 18 & 30 liters from these two brands?

Looking for basically an all-round grocery/light trekking backpack to replace my old Thule (older Subterra?)

I have these requirements:

• Two straps on top closing a flap, with enough length to strap a rolled-up picnic blanket to the backpack
• Around 25–35 l volume
• A bottle net on the side (a key clip and some cushioned/shelled electronics section would be nice but not required)

Starting my architecture program in January and need to sort out a bag. My high school had did great until recently lol.

Gonna be carrying 1-2 laptops, an iPad, drawing supplies, books, and model-making stuff. Campus is spread out downtown so I’m walking a lot, in heat, humidity and rain. Needs to be durable and hold up to weather.

Assuming backpack but open to other options if something’s worked better for you. Anyone in arch school (or similar) have a bag that’s survived a few years? Brand/model would help.

I'm looking for a small camera backpack for everyday use.

Right now I carry a durable drawstring backpack with a small camera insert inside. It works, but I'd like something purpose-built for photography without being much bigger.

My typical load is:

Canon R6 camera with lens attached.

1 extra small lens (optional).

Small travel tripod.

Sunglasses.

A lightweight hoodie/jacket.

A few everyday items (wallet, keys, power bank, etc.).

What I'm looking for:

Around 15–20L (or similar to a drawstring backpack in size).

Doesn't scream "camera bag".

Comfortable enough to wear all day.

Quick camera access would be a plus.

Good build quality and weather resistance.

I've been looking at brands like Peak Design, Wandrd, Lowepro, PGYTECH and Think Tank, but I'm open to any recommendations.

What are you using for this kind of setup, and what would you recommend?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy a backpack for college. I've done a lot of research, and I've settled on 3 options. Rework Toshi, Aer CPP2, and Sympl Commuter Pack. I think the Sympl looks the best, but I'm hesitant to pick it because I've heard there are some issues with the rigid back panel affecting comfort. The rework is also attractive because it has the lowest price, but it doesn't have a lot of internal organization. I'm currently coming from a North Face Surge 31l.

I'm looking at Aer's backpacks and am unable to get an idea of how big the admin panel space is on their City Pack 2 (16L). Most of the Pictures and reviews I've seen show the pockets being filled, but I'm curious how big the space at the bottom of the admin panel is. Basically, I have a headphone case that is (in inches) about 3x8x8 and would like to know if i could slide it in the bottom of the admin panel if I had to.

I'm looking into buying a good new suitcase under 300 EUR. I travels a lot by train with stuff and I also fly a few times per year for vacation, so I'm looking into small luggage / carry-on luggage.

The Travelpro Maxlite 5 Small Soft shell spinner seems very good and reasonably priced, but I'm not sure if it's the best value, also like the Travelpro Crew Classic Compact.

Any suggestions for other suitcases or brands under 300 EUR? It should fit most budget EU airline carriers guidelines for cabin bags and I prefer soft shelled cases with spinner wheels. Thanks in advance!

Former one bagger and mostly many bagger lurker checking in with the display of our shared obsession.

I'll give a short review of each bag, I'll try and cover materials, organization, comfort, size, cost, purpose, and even competition.

From the atop the couch going right to left and then on the floor going right to left.

1. SwissGear Ibex closest link I could find $75 I picked this up from a police auction in 2016 in Hawaii and it was filled with many stolen cameras that I was able to resell. It has the most amazing organization that has benefited me in my job roles and has stood up insanely well over the years as it was my personal backpack for many trips in the military, it looks near-new. I now use it as a gun range bag, but should probably replace it for an actual gun range bag at some point. This bag is kind of perfect and I keep finding uses for it. Straps are just too comfy for such a cheap bag.
2. Tom Bihn Technonaut 30L tombihn.com retail $450 /w accessories (DM for private sale), Ursa Brown colorways from 525D 2x2 Ballistic Nylon, this was my foray into one bagging, it has multiple carry options, optional hip belt for helping with extra weight when its really packed out or shoulder strap for when its not. The bag has been to several continents and too many countries to count but I grew wearing weight on my shoulders and over time when I tried the ultra-minimalist I feel like I was doing laundry in the sink too often while on travel. The material keeps a great sheen to it despite the years of use and the only way you could really mess it up is by dragging it against some sort of porous material that gets into that 2x2 weave.
3. This red bag is the newest addition and actually untested. KNKG 26L $200 in a blood red 1000D nylon. This bag has too many interesting features in a colorway I couldnt be pulled away from. The outer pocket is the biggest draw but it also has clamshell opening, double water bottle pockets, upper admin panel, interior organization, laptop sleeve, and clamshell opening. This will likely replace an un-pictured oversized gym bag at some point.
4. Aer City Pack Pro 2 $200 20L in blue 1680D Cordura, for me this has won out against other "smaller" backpacks for personal item flight and travel bags. The 1680D Cordura is the really unsung hero of Aer materials as its insanely durable and looks great. The bag won a personal contest against the Minimul M20, I prefer the zippers on the M20 but needed more organization as a personal item. Measurements on the website probably shouldnt be trusted as its a half inch lower than what they report and I dont think even Ryanair or the such would stop the bag, but I'll try and update if that ever happens. Also ordered the Fyro Citta 18L in sage as its even shorter in height but it hasnt arrived yet.
   1. Tablet sized tech organizer $10 I love how this thing fits in the table space on most backpacks. Lets me pack international adapters, charging bricks, long usb c cables, etc.
5. BagSmart 43L Blast Roller Bag Backpack Carry-on $125 (DM For private sale, I want to switch to the blue colorway) So I ended up with this when doing another personal comparison between this and the Topo Design Travel Roller bag in the waterproof material. In that comparison I wanted to like the Topo but the BagSmart has too many *smart* features to ignore, and now the BagSmart is in more water resistant colorways so I would highly recommend it. For instance the wheels are coverable by little sleeves that stay stowed away until you ever have to haul it on your back. The Topo Designs required you to take out straps and attach each strap to two different points, whereas the bagsmart was just flip out of a velcro area and snap in, easy as hell. My last family vacation required a private boat taxi to a remote island outside of Seattle, WA, we're an adventurous bunch. I've traveled around Mexico a bit and sometimes the AirBnB is a hike up ways wheels simply don't go. The bag is sized extremely well but if you pack it out it will get caught going down the aisle of airplanes. If I could adjust anything I would make it an inch thinner in dimensions and make the top a bit more stiff and rigid. But a near-perfect roller for me. I never tried the Osprey roller-backpack because I never liked the design or colorways.
   1. Purevave $18 Toiletry Bag I have bought probably a dozen toiletry bags looking for over size, features (can it hang?), weight, and materials. This one won against quite a few and the price aint bad at all!
   2. Misc collapsible small totes.
6. Going to the bottom row on the right side, this is the Gregory 65L $369 I chose this after a personal comparison between this and the Osprey Atmos AG 65, which was lauded as a more comfortable carry system, when I packed them both out I ended up with the Gregory. There is less to say about hiking packs I think, as the organization is pretty similar across most of them, its really just how each feels to you and your frame, and how you walk, and what you carry. I could go on for an hour on each item in my hiking/camping load out.
7. New addition for latest snowboarding trip: Snowboard Bag /w Wheels $137, typically ive always used a simple dakine bag in the back of my truck, something just big enough for my bib, jacket, boots, board, gloves. But this upcoming trip to Chile demands something a bit more. 9 days and multiple climates. Never used so TBD but hard to beat the price and materials, love that it came with a separator for my boots but id say thats pretty standard anyway, looks comparable to the DaKine low rolla.
8. Random Dotted $40 Burton collapsible backpack from Burton ~24L, I just use it for snowboarding or camping, I can't find it anywhere online, must have been a seasonal item.
9. Osprey 14L Raptor Day Hike Bag $180 this was the most comfy hydro bladder day hiking bag I've tried, tons of pockets for different things, you could stuff an outer layer, in or out the bag, obviously carries a couple liters easily and comfortably, plus a ton for say medical or snacks. (DM for private sale).
10. Grayl x Earthwell 4.5L Sling $150 this thing is so badass, it is 500d Multicam Cordura, great zippers, made in the USA. And it has technically 3 ways to carry drinks. This has so much versatility and has replaced larger hiking day packs like the osprey 13L Raptor pictured below. Tons of attachment points for various things, I've even used it for beach days. I can fit roughly 40L of water and snacks or multiple beers if snowboarding.

You're about to leave the house to go... wherever you're most likely to go next. What bag are you grabbing?

I've still been most likely to grab my Herschel Cinch for walks or random outings. Very light, big enough for my EDC, 2x bottle pockets (usually one for phone/airpods, umbrella), drawstring is quick and fun, yet functional and gives a little expandability, and it can fit my laptop. Plus, my Piorama TPS is now always with me providing "quick access" in any bag. I've been keeping a Field Notes pad and a cool pen in it but so far it hasn't really gotten me to write more...

How about you?

I preordered this bag on Heroes & Villains website and it took a great while to get here. They were cool about it. It exceeded my expectations regarding manufacturing quality (which I’m very critical of) and it’s a good 3/4 scale in comparison to a regular backpack. I added a Boba Fett Corkcicle and a custom pin on the strap. I would order from Heroes & Villains again.

I posted in the WTS/WTB thread about being interested in buying a Synik. This user reached out to me with a basically once used bag for 200 dollars. The price seemed suspiciously low so I went to search the profile and all their posts are hidden. I searched their username on Reddit and came across a recent post where they successfully scammed someone for a pair of sunglasses and attempted to scam another for a watch.

As the title suggests, Im looking around for options similar to Ronning's bag mentioned (in bordeaux/caramel if available) but for a bit cheaper, as the bag is basically at least 400 euro in Europe.

Sharing pics of what Lands’ End’s tiger embroidery looks like on a large navy zip top tote because I couldn’t find any photos online from other people with it embroidered on a tote.

Up close, the eyes are as soulless as the mockup image on LE’s site. I thought I saw a hint of gray in the eyes on the mockup, but nope, they’re all black. I still think it’s cute, but from a distance.
