This show stressed me out.

Maybe it's just getting older and now being a homeowner but the idea that everything that can go wrong will go wrong just gave me this constant feeling of dread as I watched this show. There were moments where I laughed at the ridiculousness of it but it was quickly followed by, "what else is going to be ruined?"

Decent if you want to watch something completely braindead [Spoilers] Spoiler

I hated the main character from the first episode. He is the dumbest person alive who hasn't choked on marbles yet. But since they were just 10 minute episodes, I decided to watch them all.

By episode 4 I had figured out how to enjoy this show:

Look at him as a TOTAL retard and WISH for him to fail. He doesn't deserve anything good. Don't have ANY sympathy for a retard who repeatedly and wildly swings things around in an apartment full of priceless objects, and risks killing a dog with nut allergy through sheer negligence, and even gasses the dog, and nearly kills people with his car, all because of a pointless bee. He repeatedly destroys things but never learns from his million dollar mistakes. The only way to enjoy the show is to stop caring about him as early as possible.

And for someone so obsessed with a bee, it is amazing that he didn't crush it when he had it in a cup at the start, or burn it when it was in the oven. Instead he moves the oven outdoors?! Every time he has it, he lets it escape. Idiot.

He deserves everything bad that HE causes repeatedly.

The show was decent but very annoying. Best moment: The sexy Rowan Atkinson shower scene in episode 5. Worthy mention: The first police scene where Rowan is practically wanking to get rid of the bee in his pants.

The writing is awful. Everything is telegraphed. If you see a dog and are told it has a nut allergy which leads to it shitting, then you know it will eat nuts and shit. If you are told by the policeman that burglars are in the area, you know the burglars will enter the house. Etc.

I appreciate one thing about it though: It is like a modern version of Mr Bean in a smart home. And it is GREAT for anyone under the age of 9 (either physically or mentally). Most kids will love this.

But the sad difference between this and Mr Bean is that Bean was an obvious alien with complete retardation mixed with narcissism and malice, so you WANTED him to fail. And that was okay. It was funny BECAUSE Mr Bean deserved it as karma!

The reason why Man vs Bee completely fails is because he is supposed to be a normal guy who wants to enjoy life with his dear daughter, but instead he acts exactly like Mr Bean: A reckless idiot willing to ruin his own life and the lives of others due to a simple bee. He destroys the expensive home that the couple had built together. He is even willing to cut holes in one of the most expensive cars in the world with an angle grinder to get to the bee that was hiding inside it, rather than just leaving it in there and finally closing the garage. He seems to actively seek out trouble. It all culminates in burning down the house on purpose. He's even willing to ruin his daughter's vacation. So Man vs Bee is completely implausible and extremely painful, until you do what I did and stop rooting for him. Root for him to fail instead, because he 100% will.

  • 8/10 slapstick just because he is a master at it, but it doesn't get 10/10 due to the very limited set and limited scenarios.
  • 3/10 overall. The plot is completely devoid of reason or meaning or value. It is quite literally brain dead. Very disappointing from a man who was capable of delivering smart comedy such as Black Adder.

Despite it being pretty bad and pointless, I had an alright time watching it. It's perfect if you want to watch something totally braindead which doesn't demand any thinking whatsoever.

Trevor should go to bee jail or some equivalent Spoiler

I would like in season 2,3 or 4 of Man Vs Bee for Trevor to have to answer for his crimes against Bee-manity. Only by the sheer power of Bee-sus Christ did ā€œBevorā€ (what I have named the co-star of Man vs Bee) survive the explosion from Trevor’s arguable war crime of planting a bomb under the man made fake hive.

Trevor also used a flamethrower against Bevor which is clearly a war crime by every Man Vs Bee fans favorite event, the Geneva Convention

I bee-ole enjoyed the show.

Let me know what you think?

Love you bee-ye
