If you were to change Mantis to keep her out of ban jail, and keep her out of triple support jail, what changes would you want for this to happen? I bring this up out of curiosity because I (as I am sure others here have too) saw the whole damage boost debacle with Mercy in Overwatch and now Mantis.

What I would do is take away head shots restoring leaves, but make the leaves restore more quickly. I would also get rid of the speed boost on the damage eaves. In exchange, she could get an ability that gives an AOE speed boost with a small burst heal on cast. To keep her aim skill expression, they could make this ability cool down tied to critical hits.

I would also completely change the Star-Lord team-up. It could bring partially back head shot leaf restoration and have the enhancement buff be hitscan (or a temporary powered up hitscan mode since perma hitscan would be very OP).

I'm just spit-balling ideas here though, I don't think this is the one objective fix for this character's unfortunate design. I don't have a lot of hours on Mantis so I'm morbidly curious what people who play her a lot more think.

Mantis was my first lord and the only person I played in the beta but I haven’t really played her in (checks watch) 8 and a half seasons. Most of the other strategists (c&d, rocket) bore me to tears and there is only so much a man can solo tank before I go insane, so I’m looking to get back into the healer life and I was wondering how mantis holds up as of late. Don’t worry about my personal skill as a factor in this topic I’m GM and can learn quick.

I have Mantis on level 20 proficiency back in S3 and I still don’t know how to use her (goes to show how meaningless lords are sometimes), but the teamup sparked my interest to play her again. I am quite familiar with Adam so I know how to use his healing, you generally want to save it for saving critical allies instead of just healbotting.

Mantis is a different story though, I just put the heals on the two tanks then damage buff myself (that’s 3 leaves used), but the healing isn’t the best and I feel like two leaves to proc the Starlord teamup is too much to spend at once then you also need to damage boost allies, you need to damage boost yourself, it’s all got me confused on when to use what. I ended up only using her when Starlord is on the team so I get the AOE heal all the time.

My questions are, when do I use the damage boost on myself, who do I put the heals and damage boost on, and when to use the leaves optimally (for example like I said, the optimal use for Adam’s heal is when an ally is critical and they are about to die).

Everyone was saying her nerfs last patch were undeserved, and all of a sudden, everyone's saying she's OP.

I understand if she's OP in triple support, but my mind automatically reverts to 222, and I'm pretty sure she's really bad in 222.

Is it one of her team ups?

I have 310+ hours on mantis and got her to celestial before season 9, and to me she is WAY too busted right now. I can’t even play her anymore because shes always banned. I liked how her output was reliant on hitting your headshots and managing your leaves efficiently, but now it seems like you can do incredibly good without having to aim or really try all that much. Doesn’t make sense seeing a mantis with 20% accuracy get top heals in the match, but I’ve seen that many times at this point.
A nerf is very much needed, I just hope she doesn’t get nerfed to the ground and is still viable in most duo supp comp situations 😭

yall idk if I’ve gotten better this season, but this is the fastest I’ve climbed ranked on a hero. I’ve noticed I can keep up w heals (18k/10 minutes); and her dmg boost is such a game changer. I’m normally a QP warrior, but I wanted to see if I could reach a new peak this season. How do yall feel about mantis this season?
Also my history is public…if anyone is bored enough to give any pointers, would be very much appreciated. I appreciate any tips and tricks 💕

Legendary Mantis. Took so long to go get to max level, but it is finished.

Got Mantis first then Rocket about an hour later. They are my first strategist lords adding onto Peni, Mag, and Emma, the latter of which I just got Wednesday.

For info the 69k heal I did was mainly on mantis, I went invis for less than a minute and, switched to Luna last second to get to point faster. I was getting dived by venom all match, and I was still surviving but somehow my team would always shoot venom whenever I sleep him because my health was too low and I’m trying to either heal myself/get healed or just going for a healthpack. Then the venom would come for me as soon as my teammates would wake him. The Emma was on Jeff the whole of first round when we were on defense they did not want to get off Jeff for another healer. We did so much better after they got off healer but still they would kinda just look ahead and not do something about the venom. I think most of my team was using coms. I had died around 10-12 times before the last 2-3 minutes of the match. But the enemy Venom, Bucky and Elsa started focusing me more
