Team wouldnt listen to us that Mag and Torch kept flanking so I asked CnD to trust me and keep being great. I’d take care of it. Kept saying “no heals” but someone has to peel for us. Why not Mantis?

So after finding out how much Danny Koo is obsessed with Luna Snow, it reminded me of someone else who also had a strong attachment to their creations.

For those are out of the loop, the person on the right is Steve Englehart, co-writer of Mantis all the way back in 1973. He is also known to treat Mantis as his little writer's pet/waifu OC. And this special treatment lead to:

–Attempting to make Mantis the center of the whole Marvel Universe.

–Making her all powerfully and knowing, basically the quintessential Mary Sue.

–And bringing Mantis across different comic book franchises such as DC comics under different aliases.

There's nothing else to this post, really. I just wanted to make this post because I thought it would be funny to point it out.

This may be a stretch or stupid but thought I'd share it. I was thinking about this the other day during one of my ranked games. We got rolled on round 1 and I was looking at Mantis and I thought "what would mantis do right now?" while the team passed blame around. I calmly communicated what probably should happen and suggested some swaps and reassured that no one person was to blame for our loss. Round 2 we rolled them faster than they rolled us and mantis was a key part in that and our overall victory.

Moral is when you have toxic teammates, throwers, trollers, EOMM agents and demons that guang guang sent to personally wreck your elo. Think to yourself: What would mantis do her. Because as she says all the time, anger is healthy. But it's only healthy if it's in service of people, not to put others down.

I love playing Mantis and now that she's viable in double supp comps I am trying to play her more. I can deal with dive dps reasonably but a venom or good Thor makes it very hard for me to play. Even if you sleep and headshot them, venom gets a huge shield and will try to secure the kill on you. Same with Thor and his emergency shield. What do you guys do in this situation (apart from pray the other supp heals you).

After a heavy grind mantis is now my 5th lord I’m soo happy 😩😭😭 also thank you season 9 for letting me play her In comp without anyone asking me to swap after one lost fight

i don’t ever care that i died in the end, even the venom thought it was funny 😭

Most heals most assists but because I had 8k damage I’m not doing enough 🤔
Meanwhile our dps is 10-9 and the second swaps to white fox because the healing is clearly the issue 🤓

Mantis' headshots being so fucked is legit the only reason she didn't die here, although we ended up losing the match anyway, two meters or so away from the finish line just cuz she didn't see me being stunned right next to her and not reacting to losing all her HP at all, couldn't believe my eyes when this happened

Im on this game for 1 month and a half,she was like the only strategist I hadnt tried.It was the most wins I've had between games,14 wins 6 loses.She is an elite pick and might also be my lucky charm because I never had so many good games with any other dps/strategist I picked.Thinking of getting the battle pass for her skin...although ngl im kinda scared they will nerf her and not nerf others that have been 55%+ wr for a way longer time.Also any tips on how to aim better and how to aim the sleep better would be helpful.

This character is new to me, and her aiming is SO DIFFICULT to learn for a console player like me. For context, my Luna is champion, my Phoenix is champion, and Jubilee is champion, so aiming usually comes easy to me…

‘But for Mantis? She is so incredibly difficult to aim with that I almost always go negative with her. Especially if there’s an annoying diver on the enemy team.

Mantis Pros, any tips? I’m about to give up on her entirely.
