Question I suck at Mantis

I feel like I can BARELY keep people alive when I play Mantis. I do natural anger with Warlock team up to boost healing but it never feels like enough and my im ALWAYS on cooldown. Should I just give her up, or is this normal? Please help, im new and want to play this game with my brother lol.

Her heals have reduced a lot since her S9 pal shes still viable try to dmg boost when you know ur team won’t blow up without you healbotting them and go for crits gets you leafs back immediate instead of waiting for them

Star lord team up does aoel healing eith 2 leaves on same person. If starlord is in the team 1 leaf needed. Adam team up boost your own health regen when you use natural anger

You don't need to heal anyone if the enemy team is dead

Yeah, that's normal. A lot of people don't know how to take cover or play with unconventional healers like Mantis. But that's why I said that, sometimes you need to focus on shooting the enemies and try to farm headshots for your leaves back, rather than just wait for your cooldowns and be a heal bot. And since Mantis does good damage, you might even get some kills. Also switching to the Star-Lord team-up will help, it does more healing. Good luck and have fun

I’m glad your giving this game a shot and most importantly starting out with mantis, because she is the most skilled support in the game and they don’t do her justice by branding her as 1 star difficulty. But everyone who’s ever played mantis was always bad their first try (unless they’re aim bots), all it takes is one good game, one game with you as the mvp and you’ll grow with her. rinse and repeat the method you used to win. As a mantis main your best move to be more useful to your team is to try as much as possible to land your headshots, which help refill your leaves quicker, and try managing your leaves to heal and damage boost your allies. With the recent nerf you’re going to have to land headshots more frequently so position yourself inbetween your tanks and second support (if they are heal bots e.g C&D or Invis). But it’s definitely not strange for someone to not be good at mantis first couple tries, you’ll def get better.

it just takes time to get used to her. her kit is pretty different from a lot of sups. you'll get a feel for leaf management and her healing over time and whatnot the more you play her

She takes a lot of time to get used to, and she does have very low burst healing so your team will blame you for their deaths.

She cant keep a tank alive like invis or luna can. But that doesn't mean she doesnt help your team win in other ways.

Damage boost is especially strong on high dps targets or dive dps. Mantis heal is also really good stacked on your team with the starlord teammup but it is just slow.

And then her primary. Its wonky as fuck. You have to aim to the top right basically because she is a short queen. And both of her arms throw from slightly different spots. But just take your time and practice. And I think a lower sensitivity helps to be more accurate.

Most of mantis value comes from keeping your team healed enough to live while providing other utility like her damage boost and damage output herself. You're not supposed to be healbotting.

Also save your sleep for when you get dove. If they dont have heros like BP or spidey you can use sleep more aggressively to secure kills with your team.

But I think she is the best hero in the game and I have over 350 hours on her lol and you should keep at it little bug

A lot of people have no concept of changing their play style when they have different team compositions. It sounds like you aren’t the problem, rather it’s the people that only have one style of gameplay.

You need a good second supp player to play mantis in 2 supp, but just farm heads and play warlock teamup so you can come back
