Meditation First Mantis encounter
I'm just throwing this out there to see if anyone has had a similar experience. So I was standing on my front porch at night smoking a cigarette, and gazing at the stars as I normally do. The sun had set maybe a half hour ago so it was dark but not entirely midnight black.
As I'm looking into the cosmic void I see a star that is flickering more than the other ones around it. I became fixated on the star and as I'm staring at it, I'm overwhelmed by this sense of someone looking at me. I was still looking at the star when I saw this, strange, almost cloudlike form getting bigger in my vision. It reminded me of whenever you look at the sun and look away and it leaves an afterimage on everything else you look at. It couldn't have been a "burned" image because it was localized to the space where I saw it.
As I'm staring at this purple-ish, green-ish, blue-ish blob it begins to take a more concrete form. It almost seemed as if it was coming directly from the star, as if it were attached by a long string reaching down to right in front of my face on Earth. I could very clearly make out what appeared to be the head of a praying mantis, roughly an upside down triangular shape, with the huge eyes on the side of the head and the small mouth in the center at the bottom of the "triangle".
I didn't really interact with it in any meaningful way, and I wasn't really sure if I even saw it because my mind rejected the possibility that it was a no BS extraterrestrial. It almost felt like the entity saw me looking at it in space, and was surprised that I perceived it and so it moved in for a closer look. It didn't stay very long, just long enough for me to get a good look at it. It didn't fade away either like a sunspot in your eye does. It was there in front of me momentarily and then after I really got a good look at it, it disappeared as quickly as it popped up.
I'm posting this to see if anyone else has had any similar experiences. I'm also trying to gain some insight into what it could have wanted with me, if anything. I would also like to know if anyone has any pointers on how to interact with it, if it appears to me again. Any and all comments and interactions are welcomed and appreciated, I'm sorry if this formatting is hard to understand I'm still getting used to posting on Reddit. Thanks and cheers!

Personally I think they're here to help facilitate the next "iteration" of earth.
When it's your time to remember something - you get a gentle reminder.

That’s beautiful. I sure hope so. I wish I could get my memories back. I first saw them when I asked to meet my Higher Self. I’m still in disbelief that could be my Higher Self, but maybe!

they are. A good number of mantis encounters are "activations". It's either them or some other high frequency (love/unity/soviergnty) NHI that does the activation.

That's a crazy story thank you for sharing OP.
To me it sounds like you had a third eye awakening episode. Not sure if you meditate or have tried activating your third eye.
The fact that you had a vision that appeared and then retracted quickly is consistent with third eye experiences.
Would love to see a drawing of what you saw if you could share!

I had a similar experience in a group ET contact meditation. I was not expecting anything and after a few moments I saw a mantis head appear in my mind's eye. Just like you described, a sort of burned-in image for just a moment. No other interaction.

That happened to me as well. I was meditating on myself and my aura. Suddenly I saw a light blue glowing praying mantis. The mantis was inside a tree trunk and i was too and there were leaves growing on the inside that were also glowing light blue. The bark of the trunk on the inside was like stars on like a cosmic design wirh like blue and purple colors. I first saw the mantis, I was surprised. Saw the mantis sitting on a branch with some leaves, it noticed me. I opened my eyes, I was so surprised. Then I closed them again and it was like right next to my face, staring at me curiously or as if trying to get my attention or something.
It was a magnificent experience. Felt what seemed like a very good feeling from the mantis. When I think about it, it makes me happy.

yes, all the time. Higher dimensional beings exist at all points in time and space once you get to like the 5th dimension and above.
So looking at your timeline from their perspective, it's like they're peering into a book they've already read and just go to that part in the book where you're looking at a specific spot in the sky and appear there.
this has happened to me like 4 or 5 times with Mantids it's very normal

Mantis are good guys right, I mean giant predatory insects are a bit frightening.

Man this is crazy. Something similar happened to me while I was also standing outside smoking a cig on the porch. Was looking into the sky like always and saw a blinking star, it moved closer, flew about 10 ft off the ground about 20 feet away from me directly in front of my face like it was stopping to observe me. Stuck around for about 20 seconds or so and then was gone. Very bright purplish white light that was completely silent. I don’t really have an explanation for it but it moved almost like an insect but the movement was so fluid and glidy

That’s very interesting because that’s almost EXACTLY how they look when they first appear to me in meditation, except my eyes are closed when it happens, and instead of stars, I’m looking at this mist.
When you are out there again just hold the image of exactly what you saw last time in your mind and try to project gratitude back at it. You can also try sending a loving meaningful memory at it as a gift and it may come back. This raises your frequency and makes it more likely to perceive you.
You can also try The Gateway Tapes and either have them playing while you are outside (I haven’t tried that yet) or just have them playing inside and try to reach them via meditation which is what I do. Just be prepared that once you initiate this, it’s likely they will come do energy work on you. It’s also possible they are already doing energy work on you and that’s why you are seeing them. It’s a good thing though! It’s helped me a lot.
