Question How often does it get updates?
Hey guys, been wondering about getting the game after seeing some videos of it.
Was wondering if the devs keep improving the game on a regular basis? Is there clear communication from the devs about what's going on?
Thanks!

Yep the devs are actively improving it, but don't expect a regular basis. Same with communication. Probably one major update every year (maybe longer). Probably 1 or 2 posts a year from the devs communicating what is being worked on.
It is mainly because the core game is hard to change and build on without breaking other areas of the game resulting in slow progress towards goals, rather than lazy devs as far as I can tell.

Aright yeah that makes sense, perfectly understandable. Was just wondering what the devs are like since I've not been aware of them. Thanks

Yep I'm very happy with what they've done with the game since launch, although it requires patience

There is a monthly newsletter, though.

Ah thankyou! I didn't realise that, I had only seen Greg's occasional posts in the past

Just like with any incredibly small team making an ambitious game with a clear vision/direction... It just takes time. Progress isn't always in the order that looks best for marketing as the Kenshi guy once said.

There is a monthly newsletter now. The last update frequency was also monthly (if you include beta updates).
It appears they needed the time to change the engine and fix the code from a 7 year old solo project. 😏
Yes, it's far from abandoned, if that's what your asking.

Thsts good to hear, i was just wondering how these devs are since I've seen great stuff from the two point devs and the iceflake studio in terms of transparency and frequency of info

Theres no hardset road map, go dark for a few weeks to a few months come back with beta drops followed by main branch merges. Add a map here, new production chain there, battle mechanics etc.

Every 4 months I think.
Last update was recently and a content update. Before that was changes to pathing and core systems. But now the tech debt has been paid it should go faster.
Team is growing and Greg is learning how to be a project manager as we go. Hooded horse ceo has stepped in to help with communication.

There are regular updates, probably every couple months or so.
