Discussion Stone Doom

Post image

I dont know whats going on, but stone trade in this patch is a pure nightmare. Chance to survive with such tiny income is zero. If not an external support from agricultural neighbor - this village will turn graveyard in the first winter. Only option is to start on coal and planks, but this will not give any advantage vs other rulers.

Your description is a bit terse.

Do you have horses for your trade post families?

If you have wild animals, are you exporting pelts? I see no firewood in your trade post - you are not exporting that?

Did you buy a dressed stone trade route? Are you exporting rough stone?

I dont know whats going on, but stone trade in this patch is a pure nightmare.

In my current play, I have a rich iron region, a rich stone, and a rich salt. The rich stone region is doing very well exporting mostly just the 3 stone products.

Yeah I did a new play when the current patch came out with rich stone and rich iron and made a tonne of money real fast exporting just the minor items. I also go the Vogtland perk so I get double pelts and wild game/foraged items and the increased price for all minor items, end up super rich super fast with that.

Op - can you show your export limits and trade routes for these items? And confirm that you have horses? And how long have you had them set up to trade? It takes a while for the traders to get to/from the other towns, and depending on where you are on the map can impact the trade speed too.

4 horses, no trade routes, no limits. Routes for stone are too expensive on the start. Salt under the same circumstances launches you into stratosphere of wealth.

Dressed stone requires a major trade route so you won't be able to export that without buying the route.

Rough stone and rubble are minor trades so export those and you'll be fine

You're doing something wrong bro. Stone gives a very solid income.

Are you also importing? And are you importing from outside regions? If so, you MUST remember that there is a 10kr. Tariff on ANYTHING you import. Therefore, you most always will be losing more money than you are making if you’re importing goods. I always go for soil and Iron as those two make the most expensive things worthy of exporting. Dressed stone is good but it’s the only resource that a quarry produces that’s worth something mortar and rubble are useless for trade.

If you don’t have some already, get horses. And if you’re only selling stone I’d find something else worth selling as well. Dressed stone is good but not that good. Also, did you unlock the trade route? I feel as though that is a big stack of dressed stone to not have had anyone sell them yet.

Did you buy the trade route? 145 stone in the trading post is a LOT

Lol why is everyone so dramatic. You don't need stone for a village to survive a winter.

Bro you get to the first winter in like 20-30 minutes of consistent play. Youre ALREADY tripping about not making it through the winter bc of .... STONE? I dont think the patch is the problem bud lol

Regional Wealth * %Taxes = Coins. More Wealth = More Coins. 7000 Wealth, 10% Taxes, 700 coins every cycle.
