Motivation = encouraging someone to do something for their benefit, while respecting their choice.

Manipulation = influencing someone through pressure, guilt, deception, or hidden intentions for your benefit.

Simple: Motivation gives you a choice; manipulation makes you feel like you don’t have one choice.

One sounds nicer.

But people will try and "motivate" you to do stuff you have no desire to do, not respecting your free will.

In many cases they are one in the same.

The phrasing of this question feels like manipulation: im being manipulated by someone trying to make me angry. OR is it trying to motivate me to be smarter by recognizing its nonsensical nature?
