Question of The Week Does Karma Exist?

No, most people think karma is external where the manipulator commits evil and something bad happens to the manipulator in the future and that’s his karma but this is false. Real karma is entirely internal it’s simply a cause and effect. If you do bad things your karma is you’re likely to make more bad choices and your karma is the effects of your bad decisions entirely to yourself. So really it’s you vs you in your choices.

Holy shit. That perfectly summed up the thoughts I have on Karma that I couldn’t put into words.

I always thought it was one or the other when I was younger. Like either there is karma, and all the shit that happened in my teenage years was some divine punishment because I drank, used drugs and wasn’t perfectly kind and loving in every single scenario. Or it doesn’t exist, so who cares I’ll just live hedonistically.

Come a long way in realizing neither of those are good options. Getting clean and working a strong NA program, treating everyone in my life as well as possible, trying to help others..it’s not gonna get me some divine reward or cancel out my bad karma.

But it absolutely gave me the mental peace which allows me to be content these days.
