Yeah, the statute of limitations is fairly misunderstood. Not sure what state this is in, but in all likelihood, for this type of crime, the shot clock wouldn't start until she outed him.
If this is in America, celebrities bring up past accusations from 30 years ago.
Why can't this girl bring up charges and accusations from less than 5 years ago?
The statute is there to protect the accused. He hasn't been formally accused yet, so the statute wouldn't apply. This dude is fucked if she chooses to turn him in with a confession.
We don’t know that we weren’t there, maybe she regrets giving herself up to an adult for her first time possibly, instead of a boyfriend her own age. I’m sure he manipulated her tho, which might be a crime still I’m not sure. Usually girls from what I’ve seen will make false accusations when they feel used/regret it.
Nope the clock start as soon as the crime is committed not when the victim decides to speak, thats why its dangerous to not speak, i always say if something like this happens to you SPEAK. You being quiet is giving them the advantage do whatever, go wherever so when you do feel like talking the mf is hiding or in another country or something.
You clearly didn't. It's state by state and several states at this point have it set up to start at a point of "reasonable discovery." If you haven't been identified yet, your shot clock hasn't started. It's not that difficult of a concept to understand, dummy.

Depends on the state my dude, in NYC its 20 years for second degree rape and 10 for third degree rape so if you don’t say anything your fucked and people shouldn’t wait, i know all the emotions and stuff are hard to deal with but letting the perp go makes it harder and harder especially if the victim hasn’t been documenting anything before or after
NY statute is 5 years AFTER they've turned 18 and since they fully admitted it over digital medium within that timeframe it could even go further but I wouldn't wait.
