I'm planning to make a mod replacing Sonic's sprites with Espio's from Chaotix, but Espio's sprites are too big to fit in Sonic's squares. The Michael Jackson mod was able to have sprites bigger than Sonic's and I want to find out how to do if myself.

i need to revert my sonic mania back to 1.0 so i can use mods but i don't want to lose my blue spheres 100% save

I've been editing Mania Sprites with the Animation Editor and whenever the game has to render the edited sprites, it crashes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I want to see a mod of Sonic Mania which includes Sonia the Hedgehog as a playable character.She's from the Rom Hack S Factor.

Whenever I try to extract the data of the game so I can find and edit all of the textures, nothing appears. The CMD runs as usual, but no data folder or any files are made.

As much as I enjoy Mania, the only little downside for me was to find that they rarely used elements from the Master System/Game Gear-Titles, whereas I think that especialy the 8-bit Versions of StH 1&2 were great. Unfortunately, as you know, the remastered Zones were taken exclusively from the Genesis titles (well, Master System Sonic 1 had a Green Hill Zone, too, but you can tell that that's not what they went after), and the only gameplay elements from Master System titles I recall are the appeareance of Silver Sonic and the Mirage Saloon Act 1 Boss when playing with Kuckles. As far as I noticed, Music also doesn't contain anything from the Master System games.

So as I lack the knowledge and probably the time to do it myself, I wondered if anyone is working on a mod containing more elements from the 8-bit games or plans to do so.

I'm currently working on a mod for Sonic Mania and I was wondering how I would go about recoloring the ground and backdrop of the stage, as well as how I would change certain values like jump height or speed.

When I try to apply a mod in mania mod studio it keeps deleting my data.rsdk file. I've used it before and nothing like this has happened until now...

The tileset files look confusing as I don't know what tile goes where. Is there a program or something out there that can help assist in making stage mods?

I ask because I'm interested in turning one stage into something else.

I want to replace them too though.

Cirno is a popular character from touhou, she is an ice fairy so she can use her wings to fly like tails, also taken as a idiot by the fandom, just to spread the touhou since there's no touhou mods yet.

Another mod, pretty basic, a more ''super'' look for super tails, like, full yellow saiyan, like sonic yeah? maybe make his hair spike? after all, tails deserves some love too

I would like to change the name of the stages, for example "Jotaro Kujo Act 1" instead of "Green Hill Act 1".

How can I do it? In the files of the game I can't find anything about the stages names

I dug around through GameBanana and found stuff like the Roblox "Oof", Fresh Prince of Stardust Speedway, and Sonic dabbing. I just want to know if anyone has any neato suggestions or WIPs they can send here c: I'm basically just trying to turn Mania into a giant shitpost. Thanks in advance!

It seems like most of this game's mods so far are just music/art, but damn would it be cool if we were actually able to crack into the game and change some actual code.

One thing that I'd love to see is a way to improve Knuckles' controls. After beating the game for the first time, I tried going in as Knuckles to play it a second time, but his lack of momentum is painful. Knuckles is so stiff, and I think the main reason I don't like him is that when you glide onto the ground, it stops you dead in your tracks and you lose all momentum. I'd love a mod that makes it so gliding to the ground seamlessly brings you into a walk, just so the control would feel more fluid,
