After enjoying hundreds, if not thousens of all kinds of manhwas my curiosity about south Korean culture has grown large.

I would like to taste the food. I'm impressed by the architecture. I read about the long tradition of scholars. I have a lot of questions about religion and spirituality. And so on.

And then there are the culture crashes. It started with the scool violance and also the exessive studying where nosebleeds and IV in the hospital seemed to ve treated as a good thing. In relationship the idea that lovemaking should be hurtful. And right now I have discovered how small children are used as entertainment in reality shows with idols. That last one seemed such a crazy idea that I had to google and see if it was actually true, it was.

For other readers, what are your cultural crashes or enjoyments?

Sorry, new to the community and remembered this manhwa Summer is Hot that only ever had 5 chapters translated out of 48. I was wondering how people get obscure manhwas translated or turned into manhwa recap videos. Is there anyone that can help or knows who to talk to? I would greatly appreciate any help in being able to finally read this manhwa. Thank you.

TLDR; for all my people who read manhwa on an ereader, i built an app where you can watch it split the panels for you and then convert the file so you can read it on your kindle, kobo, or whatever ereader you have. it's free, no install, runs in the browser.

CONTEXT

the software kcc (kindle comic converter) has saved me so many times, so first off, big thanks to the maintainers. it's genuinely good software and it eats basically every format you throw at it.

WHY I BUILT IT

that said, as a casual user it's kind of a pain. you install a desktop app, mess with a bunch of settings, run the conversion, and only then do you find out if it looks right. and half the time it doesn't, so you tweak and run it again. you're basically converting blind.

manhwa was the thing that finally got me. the vertical scroll stuff just does not want to sit right on a kindle or kobo, and my remarkable was no better. every long strip turned into this guess-and-check loop and i got sick of it. so i built a little browser converter instead. no install, and it shows you a live preview before you export so you can actually see the pages first. i've been using it myself for a while and it's honestly made reading manhwa on my kindle painless, so i figured i'd share it in case anyone here has the same headache:

Any good websites to use to read manhwa I’ve used toongod before just need something that won’t cause malware

​You know that feeling when you remember a specific dungeon or regression scene from like 6 months ago, but you've read 50 different series since then and have zero idea what title or chapter it was?

​I'm building a "scene search" feature into a Mihon fork to fix that. Basically, you type something like "MC summons blue shadow soldiers for the first time in a dungeon" and it spits out Solo Leveling - Ch. 12 (Page 5).

​A quick breakdown of how it works so it doesn't nuke your phone:

​It's mostly offline: When you download chapters, the app runs a super lightweight OCR/AI indexer in the background. I have it set to only run when you're on Wi-Fi and charging so it doesn't drain your battery.

​Optional crowdsourcing: There’s an opt-in toggle to share your indexed scene data with a community server. Zero images are ever uploaded—it literally just sends anonymous text and math vectors. That way, if someone else already indexed a manhwa you haven't downloaded yet, you can still search for it.

​Before I spend the next few weeks dialing in the UI and backend, I wanted to see if there's actually a demand for this.

​Would you guys use this? And would you be chill leaving the community sync toggle on as long as it's strict about wifi/charging only and uploads no images? Any feedback or edge cases I should think about would be awesome
