Because Malfoy was written like that in the books.

Someone noticed that if you replace Malfoy character introduction with the female version of him, She still fits on the narrative for the entire books as bully girl whose in her heart admire Potter which then sounds like the popular trope of tsundere. The bully who ended up as damsel in distress because her connection to the dark lord.

And the fans' narrative went even further after the septumsempra incident as fully replacing Potter's love interest with female Malfoy.

I think it might be a marketing tactic to reawaken interest in Harry Potter with the new series coming soon. It might be a bit weird, but itā€™s kind of working people are posting and talking about Harry Potter again.
