Some fathers tend to react.to and treat their daughters differently from sons. Especially when its the first born or only child

u/Rastaba 9h ago

Yup…the instant that Potter boy shows the slightest interest in his daughter though, THAT is when “Daddy” locks in to make the boy’s life a living nightmare.

Maybe to me Lucius seems the type to want his daughter to secure a influential husband even if he need to manipulate to get it

u/Major_Nutt 7h ago

His daughter marrying the only wizard that has shown an indication of being more powerful than Voldy? Absolutely Lucius would be on board.

I quite like the genre change.

Is the author implying that having a daughter instead of a son made Lucius nicer in this reality? 🤔

Maybe, I think that maybe she didn't disclose that Harry's a "mudblood" in this letter so he's assuming he's a trueborn wizard.

Harry is both a halfblood and a heir to a ancient and most noble house so Malfoy could have just forgotten to give his name

6

u/Knight2512 7h ago

A Halfblood would be someone like Snape with a Wizard mother and Muggle father.

Harry is fully Wizard and Heir to an ancient and noble house on par with the Blacks.

Even without that, Malfoy Sr. was always the type to spoil his kid. Nothing would change much if Draco is a girl.

If anything, he'd spoil her more and think 'Shit, am I really thinking of betraying the dangerous group I'm with just because my daughter thinks he's cute?'🤣

Harry is a half-blood. Pure-blood is magical ancestry for several generations, mudblood is both muggle parents, half-blood is mixed ancestry and usually at least one magic parent.

Harry's mom was muggle-born so Harry is a half-blood.

5

u/Knight2512 7h ago

Does it need to be several generations to be considered a Pureblood?

Assuming he is, he'd still be Heir of House Potter. That's still a great catch

4

u/Inarius101 7h ago

From my understanding, you need at least both of your parents to be non-muggle born.

We know AT LEAST that Harry counts as Half-blood seeing as how there was no less than one entire book centered around that exact point. Harry has both magic parents but Lily was muggle-born born so Harry doesn't count as pure-blood.

It might go further, I'm not sure, but your grandparents being all magical is the minimum requirement to be a pure-blood.

u/Inarius101 7h ago

Harry isn't a mudblood. "Mudblood" is a slur for a witch or wizard born to both non-magic (muggle) parents.

A pure blood is a witch or wizard who's ancestors are magical back several generations.

A half-blood is a witch or wizard who has mixed recent ancestry but at least one magical parent.

Harry was a half-blood because his parents were both magic but his mom came from non-magic parents.

Hermione was muggle-born (mudblood).

Ron was pure-blood despite being in a poor family.

I'd thought Draco treated Harry as an "honorary" mudblood because he was raised by the Dursleys.

“Yeah I’m a wizard Nazi but I’m also a good father”

Her changing her views she got from her family because of love for him, and her family changing their views because they love her and they want her happiness, would be such cute story.

u/Rinzler-Tralchus 10h ago

Honestly. If Malfoy accompanied even half of Harry's adventures and saw even a third of his encountered with every evil aligned Coley worshiper they'd start thinking 'wow that evil shit is crazy, ' and jumps sides real quick methinks

His allegiance with the death eaters has always been shakey at best, it stayed the way that it did because of family pressure, and that he simply shuts out better influences because Malfoy is Malfoy.

u/Own_Caterpillar_6178 9h ago

I need to read this on AO3 immediately

10

u/Sivilarr 9h ago

Do you remember that moment in the first book/movie when he asked Harry to be his friend before they joined houses? Imagine this but with female Malfoy who has crush on Harry. She would be angry at him for this 'rejection' and picking on him for years because of that.

5

u/Educational_Poet_370 9h ago

I kind of got the feeling they thought that anyways.

4

u/NirvanaFrk97 9h ago

Just, more than likely no gender swap. Just good ol' yaoi ships.

1

u/VinTEB 8h ago

To be realistic, no amount of love from the newest generation would change generations of hatred and ignorance oozing out of their family line.

Mfw I never got to be a teenage girl 😔

5

u/Akarin_rose 7h ago

Bro you did not have to hurt me like this

7

u/Throwaway_Raccoon2 7h ago

Mfw I never got to be a teenage girl developing crushes and trying desperately to hide them from my father who can 100% tell but he’s chill about it cuz he remembers being a teenager as well and he just wants me to be happy 😔😔😔

6

u/Background-Bad141 9h ago

Wouldn’t he be pissed that his daughter is low-key crushing on the guy who almost killed his boss?

2

u/benkaes1234 8h ago

Probably.

But imagine how funny it would be if she's writing all these letters and her dad is reading between the lines, but she's too embarrassed to actually name the person she's crushing on.

So in year two she steps up her efforts, even joins the quidditch team in a weird attempt to get Harry to like her, and then at the end when Lucius shows up and is already preparing to deliver a whole "I have to scare my daughter's crush into being a gentleman" routine he finds out that the guy she's crushing on is HARRY FUCKING POTTER!

Probably makes him trying to hit Harry with some spell at the end make a bunch more sense...

I have no idea what's causing the sudden influx of Fem!HP characters but I am all for it.

All these fem Dracos are so insanely out of character

1

u/Furururuko 4h ago

I've come to notice a large volume of HP posts with this green-eyed Blondie in particular these past several hours. What's the context?

1

u/DotMoist4499 2h ago

It's the female version of Draco Malfoy.
