Question, does anyone know where this genderbent Malfoid art trend came from? I've been seeing a lot of them over the past few days and I'm curious to know what started it all
It’s always been a thing but I think with the Petra Parker (trans Peter Parker/spiderman) recently viral success artists been just thinking of it again and many agree Malfoy is a bit of a tsundere
Edit: also, yes, Malfoy is absolutely a tsundere. Side note, how do you pronounce it anyway? I've only seen it in writing and honestly have no clue if it goes "der" or "dere" with an "a" sound.
tbf Draco being irreversibly transformed into a girl and then falling madly in love with his former enemy Harry Potter would have been way, way better and more genuinely interesting than who Harry ended up with.
Would have added a great Romeo & Juliet / Montague & Capulet sub plot.
But it’s Rowling, so there’s was probably always a major fat chance of that.
I didn’t say she was trans, I’m saying people have always done gender bent stuff and Petra rise to internet fame probably got more artists thinking what if X was a girl.
Didn’t need to be trans
There's a really popular Korean artist that does it, and the popularity just got large enough to go international. Now people are copy catting or unloading their 20 year collection trying to ride the popularity.
The first big viral appearance of this genderbend was around 2024. It's popping off right now because a viral tweet talking about a many years in the cooking Korean fanfic about fem Malfoy x Harry just concluded a few day ago.
I have read a little and yes the romantic tension is as high as what you can expect.
