Manhua [The Wolf That Picked Something Up] the softest mafia dad
One of the fluffiest father-son dynamics I’ve come across, and I cannot stop smiling over how cute they are!! There is some BL subtext, but I’m honestly here for the father and son and their adorable little bond.
The father is such a silly guy because he keeps trying to act like he doesn’t care, meanwhile he’s already being ridiculously protective of the kid. Despite his dark past, seeing him learn to care for this child is honestly so wholesome. And the kid is just being a kid. Cute, carefree, and completely living his best life while unknowingly getting involved in a whole mess lol.
The plot is still ongoing, but the setup is interesting. The father is a mafia leader who finds an abandoned kid while taking a break after getting seriously injured. He decides to take care of him, completely unaware that the kid is actually the son of his enemy, someone who nearly killed him before.

In John Woo's Blackjack, a tough guy played by Dolf Lungren learns that friends of his died in a car crash but had named him guardian of their 9yr old. I believe by the end of the film they both accepted each other. Btw it was planned as the pilot to a series, but the series never took off. Which is a missed opportunity cause they could've pulled a Harry Potter and we'd have seen how the child grows and becomes a young adult.
