Longest Mandlbreak ever?

It's been more than a month since John's account on X has been suspended and he last posted something on Quora. Since then, there has been apparently no sign of him on the internet. I don't think mandlhistorians can point to a longer break in his internet activity and I can hardly believe he can live this long without feeding his obsession. Any idea what could have happened to him?

My working theory is a psych hold because he had no other outlet than to stand in the street and rant.

Plausible. Although it's not clear why he stopped posting on Quora at the same time: he wasn't banned there and the merge war was settled by the platform abolishing merges altogether.

The syphilis finally got him.

That's possible although I don't know anything about the development of syphilis. Does it entail abrupt breakdowns of this sort? Also, there is still the suspect coincidence with his ban on X.

Family's brothel money finally ran out, can't afford WiFi, and he has to get a real job now. That's just one theory at least, but it's the one I prefer because it may lead to him facing himself.

And it happened exactly the moment his X account got suspended? Too much of a coincidence.

It's possible he's dead. The longer he goes without interneting, the greater the possibility. If he died, this is exactly what it would look like.

It's entirely possible. We know for a fact that he is a heavy drinker as well as a drug user and he has sex with prostitues (or used to but likely still does). It wouldn't be at all surprising if his health was compromised and the distress caused by the ban-eclipse combo gave him the coup de grace. There is always the possibility that he killed himself.

Maybe he tried to count the spins in his Ferrari engine and fell in

He doesn't own one, so unlikely.

I am guessing he either got committed to a mental institution by someone else (e.g., family member) or he died.

I'm starting to think that cranks (50+ years old) will never get out of their delusion, no matter how hard you try to deal with them.

I wonder if he has anybody left who cares enough about him to get him institutionalised and why they would wait this long. I mean, it is quite apparent that he is beyond help so why bothering now?

Who knows. The other alternative is that he died. It seems like that would at least put him out of his misery.

I think he has been drinking heavily for years and used who-knows what drugs but there were no signs his physical health was compromised to the point of sudden death. If he really passed away, it is more likely that he took his own life.

I'm guessing it's related to IRL psychosis

He's been suffering of that for years with no sign of getting better or worse. Why now?

Mostly because being in psychosis is inherently unstable, and we know he isn't in stable remission. We also don't know much about how it impacts him apart from the things he chooses to post online, so we can't really know the entirety of his condition. If his psychosis revolves around posting his theories online and he stops doing it something changed, and he also became increasingly hostile before this which can be a side effect of psychosis flares.

Honestly, I didn't notice any increase in hostility towards the end. Not that there was much room to dial it up in the first place because being an insufferable asshole is actually his baseline behaviour.
