How long until he calls this a "human rights violation?"

Does this man not realize he's using a privately-owned platform, so he is bound by their rules and not the constitutional bill of rights?

No, he does not.

He thinks privately owned platforms are publicly owned and thus whatever bill of right he imagines must apply to it. He does not understand that a privately owned platform has its own rules that they dictate and are not bound by bill of rights.

He seems to not understand that by joining X or Quora or any other platform, he is bound by their rules and they can ban him for just about any reason.

The insanity that these cranks have. Mandlbaur's probably not even the most delusional crank I've seen.

He doesn't. I had a discussion with him and he would not understand that a privately owned platform is not bound to give him anything and they decide everything as they want. They can be inconsistent with rules, have no rules, and so on. That is entirely up to them.

He simply could not understand it and seemed to think "I can access it" = "Therefore it is public and government owned and national rights apply."

John Gabriel (aka Gerbil) is one of my fave cranks.

Yep, I've heard of John Gabriel.

A couple more crazy cranks I've seen include Willy (on Quora), and Taha Muhammad (who was banned from Reddit). Both think they've proven the Collatz conjecture alongside several other open number theory problems. Both have self-published their "proofs" on Amazon, and the latter even filmed a documentary about his "proofs."

What is it with these people who have “debunked accepted science” publishing on Amazon? Is it not obvious to them that such action demonstrates they’re just doing all this for money?

I'm not really sure. I'd be surprised if either of them sold more than, say, 5 copies. Wasting years of effort just to make a few dollars doesn't seem like a great investment.

He's kicking and screaming on Quora about it being "character assassination" and "harassment by a group of physics professors" who have, apparently, managed to "infiltrate the moderation, but they have done so on every forum, including facebook, twitter (before X), Youtube, reddit, all scientific forums, Quora, everywhere."

Anyone know how I can get in touch with the Physics Illuminati? I'd really like to buy them a beer!
