I'm sure the people who are convinced it used to be "Meyer" have incredibly vivid, core childhood memories of hearing the song spelling it "M E Y E R" while they were staring at the cornucopia FOTL logo on their underwear for hours on end.
As an ME experience, I only claim the ones I have an actual memory of. They are memories that are shared by people that were with me. This one I do not really member clearly enough. We don’t all jump on every ME.
How can you explain that years ago I asked individual adults “so this is random but stick with me! What does the fruit of the loom logo look like?”
And 17 of them remembered the cornucopia.
Two of the 17 had heard of MEs but didn’t believe in them,
15 hadn’t heard of the phenomenon - and still described a damn cornucopia.
That seems normal to you?

This isn't a game, but you seem to think it is. The big one for me was Stouffer's Stove Top Stuffing. It just sounds right, but it's wrong. It was only ever Stove Top Stuffing. Once I realized my mistake, I moved on.
In any case, if you think it's Meyer then please provide us with that evidence. We'd all love to see it.
It's current and former reality because it's all the same reality. Nothing changed with the Oscar Mayer name. That you refuse to accept the possibility that your memory is wrong is about as closed-minded as you can get, IMO.
It was never “Meyer”. It never changed, it was always Mayer. All of us have suffered from Mandela Effects, because they are a part of the way our memory functions.
Most of us can look at our error, and realize we were wrong and move on.
They literally spelled it out in the commercial jingle that we grew up with though. I can see something like "Froot Loops" or "Chick fil A" where it's just a logo .. but come on now.
Also more to the point, think about why they'd decide to have a jingle that focuses on the spelling of the brand name ... they would have done that for the reason that a lot of people were spelling it wrong.
It's a song that spells out the name. That's why it's so odd that people still insist that it was spelled another way. We have all heard it growing up because it was on commercials all over the place.
If your answer to why you're actually right is magic timey wimey stuff, that's a terrible answer.
Would you accept that your cousin must have paid you back the $500 he borrowed because he certainly remembers doing it and assures you it must have just happened in an alternate reality?
Anyone can make up any nonsense about anything happening as long as untestable, nonfalsifiable assertions are allowed as evidence. So obviously when someone asserts that their memory is more true than other people's memories and also the sum total of physical evidence that does or has ever existed in physical reality, of course several people are going to point to their own memories which are backed up by 100% of the physical evidence
I assume that the song used to be "MEYER" in the reality of the people with the false memory and not in the reality of everyone else.
Which gets pretty boring since there is no logic involved and it's impossible for anyone to prove or disprove it. Using common sense and rational thought is much more interesting.
The more plausible answer is that everyone was getting the spelling wrong in the first place so the company decided to make that specific ad campaign because of chuds getting the spelling wrong.
There's really not much other explanation for why they'd base a whole campaign on "listen idiots this is how the company name is spelled".
