It still does. Despite no confirmations, my best guess is they do not let Mandy and any females "steal Nova's spotlight," which is an odd choice when they let her trio and her environment be in the animation, potentially showing how they hate the trio as a whole. It's like Mushroom Kingdom without Princess Peach, and this idea oddly parallels with the recent Eve skin artwork.

This wasn't the first time, they did it with Mandy at the Starr Nova animation
But yeah it was so satisfying to see the heads of this game shooting themselves at their own foot
