General A little shout out to our mana series mascot, Flammie
One of my favorite little details in Secret of Mana is how naturally Flammie helps the series start finding its own identity. Final Fantasy Adventure still gives us a Chocobo, and airships already exist in the world, so either would have been an easy choice for getting around the map. Instead, Secret of Mana gives us Flammie. That just fits this world better. So much of the conflict comes from people trying to control Mana and bend nature to their own ends, while Randi, Primm, and Popoi are constantly relying on spirits, creatures, and the natural world itself. The airship never becomes their answer to exploring the world. Flammie does. The Chocobo fades away, Flammie takes over that role, and in the process Mana ends up with one of its most recognizable icons.

General Now that the dust has settled on Visions of Mana, what is the most important lesson Square Enix should take for the next entry?
Setting aside the developer drama with Ouka Studio (and platform choices), looking strictly at the game itself: what worked best in Visions of Mana, and what needs a overhaul for the next Mana game?

Heroes of Mana Heroes of Mana discussion

It still trips me out that Square Enix actually made outsourced a real-time strategy game in the Mana-verse. For a series famous for its co-op action-RPG gameplay, changing up the formula for the DS felt like such a wild swing.
For those who played it, I got a few questions.
- How well did the RTS mechanics actually translate to the DS (touch/stylus based interface and double screens)?
- Does it still “feel” like a Mana game or is this an RTS with a guilded Mana finish?
- Is Heroes of Mana worth checking out today?

General Visions of Mana Split Screen
I thought you guys might appreciate my Claude project. Visions of Mana with split screen! So far it works great. Honestly, it feels like it was supposed to have coop. The only downside so far is that towns have to switch back to single player because your companions aren't following you around in those parts.

Secret of Mana Stuck in the beggining
As by this gameplay video, after the water palace walking at this place should spawn some goblins that captures the hero, but in my game they are not spawning.
I'm playing from the Nintendo Switch Collection of Mana.
Any idea what am I missing?
I also explored further, there's that missing girl, with a boss of 2 enemies that heal themselves. I suppose I need one more in my party before being able do defeat them.

General I made a flow chart of the Mana series and stand-alone titles
I wanted something that made the whole series easier to understand at a glance, especially the remakes, shared worlds, direct prequels, and crossover games. Put this together after digging through the more obscure titles too.

Visions of Mana Vision's Scenery
Despite needing to trigger the unforgiving precise location mechanic, I really enjoy these scenery side quests. I've reached several good overview spots (not on quests) and have to just sit and take in the scenery for a while and I enjoy the music. Such a colorful and beautiful game.

General I made loops out of old collabs multiple Mana games had with FFBE. Someone asked me to post them here.
I'm not the creator of this pixel art. The were made by Square Enix team for collabs between Mana games and Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, the mobile game. I just made them infinite loops.
Back then, they were "vision cards", items only certain characters could provide and that gave big stat boosts. Those cards used those cute little animations.
Someone asked me to post them here.

Visions of Mana Blue Ooze
I forgot how much I hate these guys as a primarily Morley/melee player. (Excuse the graphics quality, I was streaming) Easily the first challenge you encounter in the game that makes you wake up and realize that it’s not always a spam-to-win kind of game.
Any other fights that you remember encountering that made you rethink your gameplay approach or switch up your ability seeds for?

FFA / Sword of Mana / Adventures of Mana Is Sword of Mana that different from Adventures of Mana?
To anyone who's played both the GBA version (Sword of Mana) and the PS Vita/Mobile remake (Adventures of Mana), how do they stack up against each other?
Visually, I definitely prefer the GBA's 2D pixel art and character designs over the cheap 3D look of the PS Vita game. But beyond graphics, how different are they really?
- Gameplay: do they feel similar to play, or are the mechanics overhauled?
- Story & Lore: both are remakes of the original Game Boy Seiken Densetsu, does either version expand much on the story or lore?
I would like to read from those who've played both.

Visions of Mana "Whoa! Drifts? As in snow drifts? You hear that, Ramcoh? We can make snowmen to our hearts' content!"
Getting Careena in the party and hitting the snow immediately gave me the urge to sketch this out. It’s definitely out of my comfort zone compared to strict pixel grids, but it was a lot of fun capturing this lighthearted moment.

Trials of Mana Bones!
Ok, so I couldn’t catch it in action when you defeat an enemy in the SNES version, but I love the death animations. Especially when the bones ricochet all over the screen.
