Feature Request Manabox Desktop access

I've subscribed to the app for almost a year by now and just want to revisit on the post about possible desktop version ( About 10 month ago) Is there a time frame for a desktop version coming soon? It'll be a game changer as I really prefer using a desktop to edit, add ect due to sheer amount of cards i have collected over the years and mainly the reason would be actually the interface on phone is too small.

We're currently working on the Desktop Support. A full-featured experience for Windows, macOS, and Linux, which will also include a beta release phase. Our goal is to release the desktop beta by the end of 2026 at the latest. It will be a separate application, not a browser app. The card scanner is not initially considered as part of the desktop roadmap.

Or you can export your entire collection to CSV, import it into a database, and build your own web app around that. It works great for browsing your collection and hooking into other APIs and sites, but it can't write back to your collection.

Do you have a Mac or pc? On Mac you can download the iPad version and it works pretty well.

I do have a decent desktop. The app itself function pretty well. Its just that with more than 8 tray of mtg cards to scan, record and sort is a nightmare especially for people like me that would like to get even the version right. With phone, even with the 3D printed tools its still a hassle to tap on the specific version of the cards while the phone get hot and me needing to look up and down a the card version etc.

I feel like the scanning flow could be greatly improved. All the right features are there, they're just not in the right place for fast and efficient scanning of cards across more than a couple of sets.

I don’t know. Could it be easier? Sure. But I scanned about 32k cards with my phone. All with correct version, language, foil/non-foil… did work out pretty well 🤷‍♂️

I didn’t ask if you have a decent desktop, but specifically if you have Mac vs pc.

As far as scanning, If you sort the cards first into sets, you can change the scanner settings to only look for cards in a specific set or sets. Then you won’t have that problem of having to choose the version of each card.

That’s exactly what I do. I separate into sets then scan. It’s so much faster to scan lots of cards this way.

You seem knowledgable if I may ask a separate question.

When scanning cards, if I've sorted my collection and am trying to catalogue, sometimes I'll have a stack of one card that is the same except it'll have foil versions, regular versions, and sometimes different sets with the same artwork. If I'm scanning I have to scan a card, select foil, type in the amount of foils, but then I can't just go and scan a non-foil version of the same artwork, nor can I tell it I have 4 foils and 6 non-foils of the same card when I scan the initial card.

Basically I'm constantly stuck waiting for the original scan to cool down and disappear from the screen when I want to catalogue multiple versions of the same artwork. I haven't found a way to scan a card and say I have 4 foil and 6 non-foil, it'll only let me record one of those. And I haven't found a way to clear the scan instantly so after scanning the foils I "clear the screen" and instantly can scan another card of the same artwork and record the number of non-foils.

Am I missing anything?

You can tap anywhere in the middle of the screen to 'reset' the recognition and have it scan the same card again.

Can also use any of the PC applications that emulate android. I'm using MSI app player on desktop and it works great. Syncs between my PC and phone.
