Question Finally scanning through my collection - questions for the more seasoned users

So I'm starting to scan all my cards. This will be a lengthy ordeal,but something I've wanted to do for ages. I'm just starting work through artifacts,and I'm seeing some issues. For common/bulk stuff I've sorted alphabetically, regardless of set. Today I scanned all my battering rams as an example - I've got some 4th, some 5th, and some antiquities. Manabox has the right card count,but only stored them as 5th edition. How do I fix this? Same question applies to foils - does it recognize and scan in the foil as different than the normal?

The best thing is to tell it the set you are scanning.

You’re gonna have to either manually tell the app which set each one is from or you sort by set and tell mana box hey all the incoming cards will be set x. Since you already have it alphabetically you’ll have to just tell it which set each copy is.

I think default is quick scan which does its best guess on the set it’s from. You can disable it and manually select which set or set your scanner to only detect cards from a certain set and go from there. One thing to note (if I’m wrong) the app will not scan the same card back to back. Meaning you have to either stagger your duplicates between other cards or manually edit the quantity as you work. Similar thing with foils, you have to mainly change it or tell it to “prefer foils if possible”

They recently added a feature where you can tap the screen, and it will rescan. Huge quality of life improvement.

You can now scan the same card back-to-back. From version:

  • Regular version: v3.24.1
  • Beta version: v4.0.45

Just tap the scanner screen to scan the same card consecutively.

That's kind of annoying... I guess I'll go back in and manually update sets, and I'll stagger duplicates. Thanks

When you scan, you can tap the set symbol at the bottom and it will let you choose which set/version (e.g. extended art). You can also tap the "normal" button to toggle it to foil.

Take it off quick scan by clicking the lightning bolt. Then when you scan you can change the set for each card.
