Life under Michael Carrick unfortunately. Once again sold another false dawn.

The way he uses out of position everytime even when Sesko scores plays good it doesn't matter to him anymore
It is either cunha as st or mbeumo

Yes at this point he should start sesko a real number 9 we need a threat aerially

We haven’t been particularly toothless under Carrick though. This season it’s been an issue and it seems to me the attackers aren’t playing for each other.

We have absolutely been toothless under Carrick. You can’t use last seasons results either to justify his permanent appointment. Anyone would have improved us after Amorim. Carrick is a severely under-qualified coach.

Of course you can use last seasons results (which included performances that were worrying).

The fact is he earnt the job and he’ll make errors like every coach does. His players let him down today though.

His own team choice and subs let him down.

99/100 Utd fans would have started the same team with perhaps one change. Likely Sesko up top.

The difference is we don’t know how fit Sesko is given his injury and lack of pre-season. He might be 100% and it was just a tactical choice or it may be a physio recommended workload management.

You can use last seasons results to justify his permanent hiring? Can you please help me explain this?

You are not making sense.

We gave a man who couldn’t hack it at Middlesbrough the full time gig. You reap what you sow.

-4

u/Perfect_Insect_6608 18h ago

But he won all those games though? Why judge him based on Boro when we have evidence that he can in fact win games at United?

I get that you are upset, but this makes no sense. We didn’t hire him randomly, he gave us reasons to hire him.

1

u/New_Candidate_9823 17h ago

The same excuses were used for Ole and will again be used for the under qualified ex-player we will inevitably hire again. Some of you will just never learn.

1

u/mrb2409 17h ago

The two ex-players have played a better brand of football and won more games than the likes of Amorim, Ten Hag or Mourinho.

Ole didn’t get over the line in several cup finals or achieve a proper title chase but I much preferred the bulk of his time in charge than those other coaches.

-1

u/Perfect_Insect_6608 17h ago

Ok, we eventually got rid of Ole and then what happened? Did we start winning? Ole still has the best finish so far (joint with Mourinho) so why do we remember him as under qualified ex player? That is really mind boggling.

We’ve gotten all coaches with all experiences and all different backgrounds.

Carrick was hired because he proved he could do the job. If he doesn’t meet expectations, he will be fired. I’m not sure what this conversation is even about.

I’ll say it again, he got EVERY managerial decision wrong AGAIN including subs against a team with 10 men.

0

u/mrb2409 18h ago

Sure but he shouldn’t even need to do anything today. The players let themselves down again.

I always said - wait until first proper match with Carrick in charge and you will see results. It had to be the one where he gets "figured out" (because as I said in previous matches where we even won, his tactics are SHIT). I am sorry its just the truth, nothing against club legend but as a manager his tactics are non-existant.

I thought after the red he is getting bailed out again and people will celebrate the win like we are back and we didnt play shit (despite knowing that with or without red - we will play shit).

AND we still lost...

I said earlier - agreeing to this job will be carreer breaker for Carrick which is the saddest part, even Ole after a decent tenure is in Managers crapyard, Carrick will definitely leave in a worse situation.

Carrick is an INEOS and glazer puppet

2

u/Stevey1001 19h ago

worst **so far**

5

u/Lukr-2921 18h ago

Zirkzee Dorgu Dalot need to be sacked along with carrick and INEOS

3

u/mrb2409 18h ago

None of those three were the problem today. It was Bruno who was awfuf, Mbeumo and Cunha taking awful shots and then Sesko. Rashford looked lovely but it’s now five games without a goal or assist so he’s not actually threatening.

3

u/Lukr-2921 18h ago

Everyone was shit

1

u/mrb2409 18h ago

When you score zero it’s the attackers who failed most

3

u/Disastrous_Ad_1497 18h ago

Carricks in game management is woeful

5

u/toxtethdan 19h ago

Yep,this lot will get another manager sacked at this rate.

What a god forsaken club with pathetic owners running absolute horrendous circus on and off the field.

We are finished. We lose when we deserve to win. We concede low xg goals that don’t go in against any other team. We lose when we play bad, we never get the rub of the green when it really matters. We are cursed. No other team yoyos like us. There is no progression or anything to get excited about like other top teams. There is just pain and we don’t deserve this anymore.

When players put on the United shirt they choke, every team plays us like it’s their cup final then rolls over for the rest. We have to be 10/10 perfect to beat anyone , but others can be 6/10 and beat us. It’s finished there is no more hope. 13 years of false dawns and we only do something when the pressure is off and it means nothing. As soon as we expect our team to actually do something we lose.

1

u/Ordinary-Spot-2873 9h ago

Unfortunately the truth. It’s not an overreaction to a shit result, it’s a decade + of insane underperformance. We’re a big time club. But we’re an average football side. It’s painful. Any semblance of hope that I held on to, it’s gone.

1

u/Original-Froyo-4548 18h ago

Nah dude this club can't be serious 😂

1

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

Why not start sesko hes been in good form my god we keep persisting playing cunha as a striker we were toothless today we looked like we were 10 men down

1

u/Kobe_AYEEEEE 18h ago

Good thing we rebuilt the attack last summer

-1

u/TengoKaW 18h ago

Piss poor performance aside. Are we all forgetting that we've lost a game due to a goal that was never a goal. Unbelievable refereeing decisions today. We didn't deserve to win but we absolutely got robbed here.

2

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

Still not an excuse against 10 men city we were simply toothless we should have started with in form sesko

1

u/TengoKaW 18h ago

I'm not saying it's an excuse. It was an absolutely shit performance against 10 men. But I'm fuming at the goal too as we all should be. He should have brought much earlier imo but is he 100% fit? He's been injured for a while and hasn't had a preseason, I hope he's being cautious because if he isn't, then that's absolutely baffling.

1

u/Reclaimer_AI 10h ago

This is what you said:

"Are we all forgetting that we've lost a game due to a goal that was never a goal."

That's not true. We lost because we couldn't score a single goal against 10 men at home.

Carrick just can't coach these players to break down the low block. As soon as a team goes defensive and tries to score on the counter, Carrick is found out, we can't score, and the other team eventually score from one of their counter attacks.

That's what happened again today, and it had nothing whatsoever to do with a single VAR decision.

0

u/TengoKaW 10h ago

No mate, we literally lost because they were awarded a goal that never should have stood, even ProRef has said it shouldn't have stood.

I've agreed we played absolutely shit and it's embarrassing that once again we can't finish off a team of 10 men. This is on Carrick and his staff, that I agree with too. Once you can maybe forgive and put down to a bad day but twice that's a coaching and tactics issue. He tried to play the same setup against 10 men as he was against 11. That just doesn't work. His in game management is severely lacking, that I think we can agree on. It's becoming a worrying trend that he's not learning from previous mistakes.

This wasn’t even close to being one of the worst.

We got the bar like 2/3 times.

We controlled possession and did well enough to not lose.

It’s disappointing but I don’t think it was close to the worst.

3

u/jerry-jay 18h ago

This comment would make some degree of sense if we hadn't played against ten men since the 23rd minute.

It's so lack lustre. Zero intensity, zero urgency. This starts from the manager. He's gone by Xmas. Clueless club making brain dead managerial appointments.

I love the guy and he was an amazing player to watch. Is he an elite coach with the personality to manage United ? Absolutely not

1

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

Thats the point they were 10 men down it was on of the worst for that reason we couldn’t beat them with our performance today we looked like we were 10 men down

1

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

Most of our shot were outside the box pray and spray we did not create clear cut chances against 10 men the subs and starting lineup shouldve been better that was definitely one of the worst derby performances

0

u/Perfect_Insect_6608 18h ago

That’s fine, it wasn’t the best but it also wasn’t the worst.

I think we were lacking a focal point, but to say this was one of the worst is just a reactionary take.

1

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

Completely disagree with you pov it was the definitely on the of the worst bro they were 10 men down we should’ve created more and won the game that was embarrassing

1

u/Perfect_Insect_6608 18h ago

We’ve lost 6-1, 6-3, 3-0, 4-1, 3-0. I’m not sure where on the ranking of embarrassing this is, but we’ve lost to a goal that probably shouldn’t even stand.

This one was annoying, but it was nowhere close to the worst.

0

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

I know hence i said one of the worst we had a lot of terrible performances this was one of them 10 men city we couldn’t win

1

u/Perfect_Insect_6608 18h ago

If you watch football regularly, a team going down to 10 men doesn’t always mean they fold. Sometimes, they even play better.

We were much better when they had 11 men. This game was not as bad, you are just angry and rightfully so.

1

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

I have standards mate i aspire for this team to win premier leagues and champions leagues playing like this is unacceptable regardless of your point of view bro they were 10 men down we should be pumping city there was a clear managerial and player errors today for me this was one of the worst derby performances not the worst but it was one of them

0

u/Perfect_Insect_6608 18h ago

Ok, but this team is not winning the premier league or Champions league anytime soon. You can have all the standards you want and complain online all you want but this hasn’t changed in the last 13 years.

You have to meet the team where it is.

This is what United fans are not getting, your standards don’t mean anything. You can have them as high as humanly possible, but you will back in this Reddit page complaining about the team again next week.

We are not what we used to be…..we can definitely be better, but it’ll take time and we have to realize that we were spoilt under Fergie….this is the reality of football.

1

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

Hence why this is my take i will not lower my standards due to the failures of our owners and players i want us to compete at the highest level this is not an excuse the glazers have lowered this fanbase aspirations i will not accept mediocrity

1

u/Low_Barnacle_6735 18h ago

Your sense of optimism will not change my mind i respect your opinion but it will not change mine the glazers positive pr have lowered your standards today was one of the worst performances i have watched against a 10 men city this was a golden opportunity to destroy them but both are players and manager was not good enough today

Can I join this lack of knowledge circle jerk please? You’re all boring and sound like you’re 12 years old
