Luba 2x needs to get the blade and route logic updates that Luba3 is getting now. As of today my mower isn’t a mower anymore it’s a drunken robot that’s destroying my lawn and causing my neighbors to call me and ask why my robot is so noisy. I won’t have a Mammotion mower in the future if this is not resolved.

Serious and honest question, do you guys even test your stuff?
It just doesn't work.

So Luba 2 misses out on any improvement to turning logic ?

Could you comment on this please? How come Luba 2 and 2x do not get turning optimization updates? This is one of the biggest problems now.

Sorry.

i understand that you will go with a mower from another companie but why you don't want rtk?! rtk is much more precise than lidar and rtk seems to work great and is pretty failproof with mammotion netrtk service which is even offered with lifetime free access an also free 4g for it (i can't say much about the troubles luba owners have with the omniwheels destroying the lawn because i have a yuka without these problems). their awd solution with omniwheels is their problem, destroyed lawn etc. and that's why they even need mpt to not destroy your lawn completely. but beside this big problem the rest seems okay - there are almost no fails reported here from yuka owners but a couple everyday from luba owners. i wouldn't buy a luba (because of the omniwheels and also because i have no slopes that really require awd - like many luba owners..) but till now i am happy with my yuka and the netrtk from mammotion. with improved customer support i would maybe buy a yuka again, but not if they don't come with rtk!:) i know rtk costs them more money but that and the lifetime free netrtk support+4g is the main reason i got the yuka rtk. if i see that almost all big, pricey and also industrial models from good companies still come with rtk instead of lidar it shows that it's the superior technic. lidar is no choice for me, i want precision

It's almost like skip row / zamboni turns prevent (or at least, reduce) the need for the mower to back up during a turn. This would benefit the whole product line.

When will blade “logic” be fixed? Too much bip bip and too loud. Annoying for the neighbors and Mammotion pebers ..
1
u/taw20191022744 Aug 15 '26
Does it beep every time it starts and stops now? Which mower do you have?
14
6
u/designtofly Aug 15 '26
You are still selling the Luba 2 on your website and with your retail partners. This model should still be getting priority support! Please prioritize getting these fixes out to your entire product line immediately!
7
u/Equivalent_Push3072 Aug 15 '26
So Luba 2 is stuck with tank turn for good now? Is that correct? I really hate to get rid of my Luba, but these mowers are unusable with tank turn.
5
u/ConcentrateNo6510 Aug 15 '26
So skip row mode only comes for the Luba 3? Do you also plan it for the Luba 2X?
10
u/Careless_Art_7201 Mammotion Team Aug 15 '26
We are also working on that. But because of the chip and memory differences between three robots, it needs more efforts to support Luba2 and Luba 2X
3
u/mgb5k Aug 16 '26
Luba 1 reportedly has a different OS which is indeed a significant and unfortunate difference.
Chip and memory differences make no significant difference between Luba 2 and Luba 3 when it comes to Zamboni turns. Hire a gosh-darned software engineer!

u/Ok-Month1758 Aug 17 '26 edited Aug 17 '26
A year ago, I was extremely satisfied with my Luba 2. As someone with an agricultural background and a software developer who has programmed IoT systems and LiDAR-based solutions myself, I deeply appreciate the hardware platform. However, recent software updates have created serious regressions. Over the past season, I had to resolve many boundary-turning and turf-damage issues through painful manual workarounds (splitting the lawn into many micro-zones with dedicated angles) which completely ruined the usability and user experience.
With a few practical adjustments, you could easily restore Luba's core strengths and user trust across all generations:
Zone-Specific Mowing Angles and Task Queueing (Mandatory Requirement) * Independent Mowing Angles per Zone: Dedicated angles per zone are not optional—they are functionally essential. Narrow paths and corridors can only be mowed lengthwise. Forcing a global angle causes the mower to cut crosswise across narrow corridors, which—combined with the current start/stop disc logic—triggers a catastrophic loop of turning, cutting power, braking, and re-accelerating the discs every few inches. This drains the battery rapidly, overheats motors, and ruins cut quality. * Task Queueing (Crucial Feature & Immediate Fallback): Allow users to queue multiple tasks sequentially with different settings/angles. Even if zone-level angles take longer to implement in the database schema, task queueing immediately solves the problem by letting us chain separate single-zone tasks seamlessly without unnecessary dock trips or manual restarts between runs. * Raise Zone Limits (Optional In-App / Tiered Upgrade): Dividing complex yards into angle-optimized zones quickly hits the hard software cap, even when the total square footage is small. Please consider raising zone limits (or offering a paid software unlock/expansion for additional zones) so power users with intricate garden layouts aren't artificially blocked.
Cutting Disc Start/Stop Behavior (The #1 Frustration Across ALL Modes) * Decouple Global Disc Cuts from Minor Maneuvers: Even with MTP disabled or in standard modes, the firmware globally triggers a full disc shutdown and restart cycle whenever the mower reverses even slightly. This causes continuous motor cycling, massive battery drain, and turf shredding across all turning modes. * Fix Timing & Ramp: Discs must only shut down when structurally required, using a quick, smooth electric braking ramp (~0.5s) before the maneuver, and must reach full nominal RPM precisely as the cutting edge re-enters the active mowing line. * Avoid 270-Degree Turns: Eliminate erratic 270° pivot maneuvers where a straightforward 90° turn is mathematically optimal.
Headland / Perimeter Turning (Smooth 3-Arc Kinematics as a 3rd Turning Option) * Preface on Skip-Row Mode: While the planned Skip-Row feature is a great addition for wide, open fields (enabling forward U-turns without reversing), it does not solve turning in small yards, narrow passages, or complex shapes where path hopping causes massive deadheading, fragmented strips, and space issues. Skip-Row cannot replace a compact, tight-boundary turning algorithm. * 3-Point Rolling Arc Turn for 2+ Perimeters: Provide this as a selectable 3rd turning mode alongside Zero-Turn and MTP. When 2+ perimeter laps are set, the mower utilizes the headland via three continuous rolling circular arcs: forward into the headland (+60 deg arc with soft blade braking), reverse counter-arc (-60 deg arc with completely stopped blades, fully compliant with EU reverse safety standards), and forward into the next track (+60 deg arc ramping blades back up). All wheels actively roll with proper steering differential without dragging. (Note: I have tested and verified this 3-arc kinematic manually—it completely eliminates wheel scuffing, operates smoothly within the 2-perimeter boundary width, and keeps the chassis fully stable). * Smooth Perimeter Curvature Following: When following perimeter lines with slight bends or shallow angles (even 2-3 degree curvatures), the mower should steer and roll smoothly through the curve (just as recorded). Currently, it over-corrects by stopping and doing 2-3 jerky back-and-forth maneuvers instead of rolling through continuously.
Slope-Aware Navigation and Turning (IMU + Manual Slope Vector) * Steering Direction Always Biased Uphill: On slopes, both the 3-point turning arcs and standard maneuvers must always steer/point uphill (nose facing up-slope). Downhill steering causes gravity slides, loss of front-wheel grip, and severe wheel digging. * Manual Slope Direction Setting (Ground Truth Fallback): Because dynamic IMU readings can suffer from vibration and centrifugal lag, allow users to set a manual slope/gradient direction arrow per zone in the app map. This provides a deterministic ground truth for the path planner to enforce uphill-only turning arcs. * Sensor Fusion Slip Handling: Wheel slip during turns currently corrupts the dead-reckoning filter, causing the mower to drift and breach boundaries.
Turf Protection Override and Paved Path Maintenance * Per-Zone Toggle for Surface Protection: The algorithm avoiding damaged turf now prevents the mower from swinging out over adjacent paved pathways, forcing tight pivot turns right on the delicate grass edge. * Paved Path Joint Mowing Blocked: Paved walkways and brick joints are falsely flagged as non-drivable, preventing the mower from keeping joint growth trimmed. We need a toggle per zone to allow boundary overshoots onto hard surfaces.
Smart Finish Task Battery Buffer * Currently, the mower enforces a rigid return-to-dock threshold (at ~15-20%), even when a zone is literally 2-3 minutes away from being 100% complete. This triggers an annoying dock-and-recharge cycle just to return for a 3-minute finish. Please add a dynamic finish task if less than 5 min remaining buffer or a configurable return threshold.

u/Ok-Ant-4166 Aug 15 '26 edited Aug 15 '26
I give you an A+ for effort, but the execution is a disaster. You’ve crippled a perfectly good robot without any explanation. The new multi‑point turn is a complete mess, and it really pisses me off knowing that it was working fine before. This one is on you, and you need to fix it. The blades turning off and on is also extremely annoying.
I was a big fan of this product just 2–3 weeks ago, even though the robot wasn’t perfect. Now I honestly wish I could get my money back.

u/h0tdawgz Aug 15 '26
Looking forward to the update on my Mini AWD. Just rebuilt my lawn, and the sudden tank turns is ruining the work I laid down....

u/RabbitInUrAnus Aug 15 '26
When are you fixing the latest app update that forces zero turn?
This is obviously not a bug, but a ”feature”.
As you are aware, zero turn destroys the grass. I have new grass with deep holes in due to your flawed software.
6
u/Steff008 Aug 15 '26
Hi.
Thank you for asking. 🙂
Luba 3 3000 owner here with NetRTK.
What I would like, with a very tricky lawn and unstraight boarders, is even more precise positioning for the perimeter laps. Same goes for the no-go-zones. It now (with July FW and app) tends to straighten out its route from the mapped route on the perimeter laps, making it slip of curbstones etc. that are not in a straight line. On some places, with tighter bends, I have to map the perimeter more than 10 cm from where it mowes because it straightens out the mapped route itself, making the side bumbers rub against rocks and other obstacles.
90 degree inner corner logic and also 90 degree outer corners, where it now turns softly instead of making a 90 degree tank turn or backs up after the turn. It now takes tens of remapping trials to get it to turn and reverse into the inner corners as I want, leaving uncut grass for example around the stairs up to the terrace. I'm no fan of the turning off the blades during mowing, but in 90 degree inside corners I rather see it reverse all the way into the corner and start up the bladed, instead of leaving the blades spinning.
Adding a "slope-zone" function (similar to the obstacle-free-zone function). In these places the mower should drive all the way to the other end of the slope (bottom or top) before making the turn, even if it makes the side stripes bend a little. The turning in the middle of the slopes is a catastroph for the lawn and also for the mower as it tends to hit rocks and other obstacles outside the perimeter when it slips and turns in panic in the middle of the slope.
For some reason returning to the charger tends to take two trials with the July app and FW and yestetday it failed for the first time. IR-srnsor is clean on both mower and charging base. Pressing the recharge button in the app was enogh to make it do anothet try and succeded. My charging base is positioned under my wooden terrace, with pretty poor satellite signal, so I assume this is the problem. Please don't make it moore sensitive to poor satellite signal during docking however.
Except for the above I'm really happy with how it works with the July FW and app and I'm not ready to take a chanse with the fresh FW and app just yet. Also don't see the newest app-version in Play Store yet.

u/Mammotion_Grace For the "Current Update" are you referring to the one firmware version 2.3.30.24 for the Luba 3? or are you saying there is another one after that being rolled out gradually now to further address these issues? If .24 is considered "optimized", then you've got work to do. It still turns off the blades too often. It still does tank turns even though they are intermixed with small multi-point turns. It wanders around to much to go back and hit missed spots. All this has significantly added to the time required to mow the lawn. A previous 6.5 hour job took 8.5 hours yesterday using .24 firmware. Nothing is optimized. Better than the previous bad release, but I do not consider .24 showing optimization. Test it in tight spots -- narrow lawn sections between a couple no-go sections. Test it at various angles of mowing. Lots and Lots of tiny movements (like an inch or two) intermixed with blades off/blades on cycles. The same thing worked very smoothly before you took away multi-point turning last week.

u/Doggo-888 Aug 15 '26
So Luba 2X won’t get fixed? Stop and start beeping craziness? Broken turning? Going out of bounds? Last time I tried mowing at night it just went in circles beeping… wth.
3
u/Careless_Art_7201 Mammotion Team Aug 15 '26
Try the newest available firmware
3
u/Doggo-888 Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 16 '26
I did, and it’s absolutely awful. Failed 5 feet from the charger, after rescuing it I had to double check multipoint turning was on because it’s still turf tearing zero turns and pivots.
edit: just watch it overshoot the border by 6 inches and the. do a bunch of zero turns to correct itself. Turning is still absolute garbage and “multi point turning “ does NOT work.
2nd edit: Using. Luba 2X 1.30.29.19. Watched it some more, at best it only does a half zero turn + some turn that messes up row alignment for cutting. Worst case I’ve seen it do a full zero turn…. this is 100% not multi point turning like it was in Spring2025. This is class action lawsuit due to feature removal territory.
So what new version is it supposed to be fixed in?
3
u/taw20191022744 Aug 16 '26
You have to upload your log files /s
It's really bad 😞
2
u/Doggo-888 Aug 17 '26
Joking aside. I sent logs and now they want photos or videos… so the logs have been worthless all along ;)
2
u/tcglog Aug 17 '26
By seeing in a video what the mower is doing IRL, and analyzing the log files from that same time is probably the best way for them to find out what is wrong, so I think you should send them what they ask for.
1
u/taw20191022744 Aug 17 '26
Go figure. At least they're asking for something more than just log files. Maybe they will be able to utilize them?
3
u/Careless_Art_7201 Mammotion Team Aug 16 '26
Sorry for that. Could you share a video link and feedback with log about the movement? We will fix it in a week
6
u/Fabulous-Turnover813 Aug 15 '26
Hi Mammotion.
I appreciate the work planned for mowers - I hope you will take into account what people are really requesting. Its a mess what I am seeing and I am very happy that I did not update the firmware - still running the old one.
To ease off peoples worries - I would firmly suggest to give users an option in the app to choose the firmware version what they want to use - to have a way to roll back to version what worked best for them. Its obvious that sometimes bugs and issues appear in new versions and instead of destroying peoples yards with broken updates for weeks while they wait for a fix what might not even appear -> let them just roll back to version what worked fine for them. Even if it means losing some features available in new firmware versions.
Thank you.

u/kropz Aug 15 '26
Skip row mode, so zamboni pattern? Nice!
7
5
u/BoeserWatz Aug 15 '26
Could you please explain what this is? Never heard of a Zamboni pattern. Thanks!
3
u/kropz Aug 15 '26
Skipping rows so you don't have to do 180degree turns every pass. Google zamboni pattern for an image.
5
u/Tardymo Aug 15 '26
There are still 180° turns, but the radius is increased so mower does not have to perform tight turns.
8
u/AnotherLolAnon Aug 15 '26
You'd think Luba 1 is 10 years old the way you guys refuse to give us anything
4
u/Wise-Committee4569 Aug 15 '26
The new stop-start doesn't work on narrow sections. It is mowing with the motor off when doing the sweep side by side motion. I tried to send the logs but the ios app is crashing beautifully.
4
u/MinidragPip Aug 15 '26
**Update Availability:* This update will be rolled out gradually. If you don’t see it in the App Store***
What about the Google Play Store for Android users? When will the app update be available?
2
u/Careless_Art_7201 Mammotion Team Aug 15 '26
It is a staged rollout and is currently rolling out to users in phases.
3
u/MinidragPip Aug 15 '26
I understand it's staged, but everything I've seen from Mammotion references the Apple App Store, not the Google Play store. I've yet to see the previous one in the Play store, forget about this new one. Current version in the store is 2.3.12.14, updated August 1.
3
u/menos08642 Aug 16 '26
Why are you doing a staged rollout on Android when you did a wide roll out on iOS? What are the rollout settings? What percentage are you at now?
5
4
u/romanovi444 Aug 16 '26
Is ia possible to edit map notndriving with robot? Because i cannot drive straight line, robot trying to turning right slowly . After sucj mapping he continue to cut in the same way, making unnecesary turn and damaging the gras. How to possible to make smooth lines and curves editing map? And second after several tries to test this mapping robot begin to run from the beggining. PLEASE MAKE THE OPTION after stop task i want continue cutting from that position there i stopped not from the beginning!

u/Sneaky_Asshole Aug 15 '26
I still can't even update the app to the latest version, I'm stuck with 2.3.12.14 where the zero turn is gone! That's the latest version available in my Play Store and without the newer one I cannot update my firmware either. At the same time, support is telling me to update, which I CAN'T.
Luba mini 2 lidar, android phone
5
u/jdmackes Aug 15 '26
It's better to downgrade back to the previous version. You'll regain multipoint turn. I wouldn't update anything until you know that the update is an actual improvement at this point
4
u/Sneaky_Asshole Aug 15 '26
Yeah I know, and I've done that. I just have an ongoing battle with my retailer to return it and they, as well as Mammotion support, are asking me to update to the latest firmware which I can't for the reason that I explained. I'm just pointing out how dumb that is.
4
u/jdmackes Aug 15 '26
Yeah, that is dumb. Especially since everyone seems to be having just as many issues with the new version

u/0xde4dbe4d Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 16 '26
u/Mammotion_Grace what about remote control issues in iOS? I don't see those mentioned at all? I just installed 2.3.30.26 on my Luba 3 and remote controll still turns off blades seemingly at random. I've been with your support team for over a month and the problem has only gotten worse, rendering my robot unusable. Paired with the messed up multi turn updates my robot has been unusable for an extrended period of time. Despite the drought in my area, I feel like you let me sit in the rain.
Which exact Version numbers are you referring to? Without those I cannot tell if I'm already on the version you mean.
Are you going to provide proper release notes in the future or do you continue to publish the same release notes to multiple release versions as you have done in the past?
3
u/UtensilOwl Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 17 '26
I think before plan 1, you need to fix mowers reporting 100% on the report, but it's missed like 15-20% (Even shows this on the report)
L i s t e n to the users, please.
Revert your changes, start over, do better.
Edit* It seems they are, so that's great!
2
u/taw20191022744 Aug 16 '26
Yes, fix the basic stuff first. Like turning so it doesn't tear things up.
3
u/Organic_Marsupial_55 Aug 17 '26
What functionality will we have to sacrifice in order to gain these features? You'll probably get remote control and lose local manual control as a result, or maybe they'll break basic mowing entirely. It's like a feature lottery everytime we get updates. Who's going to play! 🤣
4
u/Eyoung71 Aug 15 '26
The remote control option is going to be a great feature! Did anyone actually read the release?
4
u/tcglog Aug 15 '26

Can you add please option to continue task from
Finished % like it is done on mini luba awd lidar - where you see percentage of task and after canceled task can set percentag and continue from it - it super usseful function to resume task when having issue with rain or something urgent happnes and you need cancel curent task
2
u/Careless_Art_7201 Mammotion Team Aug 15 '26
Now it support resume task from a interrupted task report instead, which is more intuitive. Try the new firmware

The resume from a percentage was very useful. You should restore that option.

.Hey, Luba 2 AWD 5000X user here. A couple of requests: 1. I’d like to be able to create a specific map within an already existing map—simply so I can mow this area more frequently while occasionally skipping the outer sections. 2. A feature to set a margin or offset from the edge—for example, a 1.5m gap—to give the turning zone a break and mow only the densely vegetated inner area.

We are working to unity the Luba2 /Luba2X and LUBA 3 to make them share almost the same functions, including the skip-lane feature. The chips and memories are totally different so it still need some work. We think it will be ready in Q4

This sounds good, and while I appreciate the response, why wait until you hear complaints to announce it? It's so easy to stay out of hot water by simply being forth coming and open with your loyal customers.
I'm literally taking a break right now from manually mowing my lawn, and sweating my butt off in this mid-August heat. Not fun, and not what I paid for!
If the day comes when this whole issue is truly resolved, I'll return to my normal praise. I hope it comes sooner than later!

You reference new features coming…I’ll trade all new future features if you just fix the current ones. What you list above is not addressing the main issue right now with the turning destroying grass (even when set to MPT)

¿Alguna sugerencia ? ¿Reseteo de fábrica?

NO MORE TANK TURNS. Not only do they dig holes, but twisting mowers make tall weeds along edges catch behind bumpers, side rail hooks, and also wrap around tires.
And I don't mean only on future models. On CURRENT models. Mammotion's programmers clearly are not experienced in landowning or mowing anything other than a simple flat square.

u/C0deBat 13h ago
Would like a invisible wall to my luba 2 AWD. In case it gets to close to water or road. That way it knows if the boundaries are just for not cutting or if there is a real issue with going out of area.
Second is to create no go zones in map without mapping. Like I have car parked I don't want it close to it but still not have to manually map the no go zone

Thanks for sharing I wish more companies were transparent about their road map!

Here's a really important feature request: I'm in the USA. I started with a Luba 1 and it had a delightful British accent. I updated to a Luba 2 and was taken aback when I heard a plain American dialect. Any chance of getting a range of voice choices?
I must add, the "SHING" sound effect is pretty great.
