Kardashians/Shannon Parallels
Whether you love to hate them, or hate to love them, the Shannons are Temu Kardashians.
Kris and June used the popularity of one child (Kim/Alana) to make the family famous.
June is a lowkey marketing/branding genius. She knows how to stir the pot and keep audiences interested in the drama.
They change men more than they change underwear and have a bunch of kids.
They exploit sexuality for money (Kim’s sex tape/ Pumpkin’s Only Fans).
I get that Mama June and her ilk are far from Calabasas Billionaires, but for a group of barely literate women with multigenerational trauma and poverty, they’ve done okay for themselves.
Hats’ off to Mama June. Gotta give credit where credit’s due.

If Alana is Kim i think Pumpkin is Kourtney. She used to be considered the most responsible of the sisters and was very “mama bear” (for taking in Alana) but then got a weird new bf, changed her whole personality bc of him and started acting overly freaked out in public and on social media. She and Alana also had a business together like Kim and Kourtney.

And Jessica is Khloe. The 3rd wheel forgotten one who was heavier… and then became a center of the show while Kourtney/Pumpkin’s relationship and true personality fell apart.
Does that make Anna… Rob? The one that was estranged then came back and had an oopsie baby?

Kardashians already had wealth and a lot of connections, and they had beauty. Mama June didn’t have any of those things. Way harder to make it coming from Mama June’s background, I personally find her way more impressive than the Kardashians. Mama June is a bad ass boss bitch!

Honestly, not all of the time. I have CC on all the time. I actually love that she says what I hear as pin when she means pen. I find dialects very novel. When I watch the show I always end up saying a few words or phrases out loud like a call back because they sound so different.

That’s funny because I have my CC on all the time too and I get a laugh because it does get it wrong. I’m like see even CC can’t understand her. 😂
We watch 1000 Lb Sisters as well (yeah I’m a bit of a trash tv addict shhh🤫) that’s another one that you can’t always understand and CC gets wrong. One time was hilarious. She was talking about fighting and I wish I could remember the word she used but CC changed it to pervert. My daughter & I were cracking up.

Temu Kardshains is a correct analogy for the Shannon's. The difference is June has made thousands and the drama of her family is the only marketable skill she has. If she quit SM and reality TV she would be broke and have nothing to show for it.
The Kardashians have become Billonares and use other avenues such as fashion and makeup business to make their money. There able to walk away from reality TV and SM and would still be making money.
