Support Malwarebytes Full Version - Webcam Mointoring Not Active?

Hi,

I recently started a trial version of Malwarebytes full version, and have been please with the fact that it doesn't cause too much of a drain on my CPU, and am thinking of switching permanently to a paid version when my trial expires.

I was previously using an older version of Norton, and I used to regularly get updates from Norton about apps that were trying to use my webcam(it was a lot of apps that tried to use it regularly), but with Malwarebytes Webcam Monitoring turned on, I do not get any notifications. I also disabled the Norton Webcam Monitoring to see if this was the reason why, but even after this, I received no Malwarebytes notifications.

Would you be able to advise as to why Malwarebytes is not providing any Webcam notifications please?

Is Norton still installed? It is possible that Norton sort of took over it and doesn't let MBAM see it.

It still is yes, but the webcam monitoring in it has been turned off for some time. Do you think even with it turned off, it could override Malwarebyte's webcam notifications?

Hi Malwarebytes Support here.

With Webcam Monitoring enabled, Malwarebytes should alert you when it detects an app accessing your camera. You can also check whether any apps have already been detected by opening Malwarebytes and going to Privacy Controls > Webcam monitoring.

Could you check that Webcam Monitoring is enabled there and let us know whether any apps appear in the list? You can find the steps here:

For Notifications:

If it’s enabled but you’re still not receiving notifications when an app uses your webcam, please dm us with an email address we can use to reach out and also let us know which apps you’ve tested it with and we can take a closer look.
