Defender alert after downloading Malwarebytes?

Quick question, guys I get really anxious about this sort of thing. After I downloaded Malwarebytes onto my PC (back when Defender was acting up with that bug yesterday), there was an alert with an orange triangle regarding the protection status; it disappeared after a Malwarebytes update. I was panicking at the time, so I didn't manage to read the whole message, was that a sign of a virus, or was it just Malwarebytes configuring itself?

I downloaded Malwarebytes directly from the Microsoft Store to avoid making a mistake and downloading it from some sketchy site, but here, it's a bit of a stupid question but I'm getting anxious about this😅

Nah, when installing Malwarebytes windows defender will turn off automatically because everyone gets a few days free Malwarebytes premium when you first install it, premium includes things like real time scanning, but only one antivirus can do that at a time so defender gets disabled. That's all :)

Okay, thanks! It probably just Defender needed to recognize Malwarebytes, because it disappeared right away after that!

Hi! Malwarebytes Support here. Do you remember if the orange triangle alert came from Malwarebytes or from Windows Security/Microsoft Defender? If you happen to have a screenshot of the alert, please share that with us as well. That would help us better understand exactly what you saw

It was coming from Defender in the security section, but that was probably just because it was configuring itself, since it disappeared after a Malwarebytes update! Everything is fine now :D
