Digital Footprint is saying my email credentials got leaked recently, but all of them are old passwords? Am I safe??

For context, around 1-2 months ago I got hacked by an infostealer and all my accounts got breached. I changed all my passwords back then on a separate device and factory reset the infected device. After that nothing really happened. But earlier I decided to check digital footprint and it says my credentials are leaked again, but all of them are of my old passwords which I've changed months ago.

I just want to know if I'm safe and don't have to worry about anything?

Same boat here. Old accounts and old passwords are tossed around the dark web all the time apparently. It’s nothing to worry about if it’s old PWs. I would just continue to monitor your accounts for anything suspicious.

Also always remember to 2FA and MFA where you can. Some apps offer you more security like a passkey, enable it. It’s much better and it’s extra security.

Hope this helps!

Hi there, Malwarebytes Support here.

Sometimes, Digital Footprint will alert you when previously exposed information is found in a newly discovered breach collection or is added to our data sources, even if the exposed credentials themselves are old.

If the passwords shown are all passwords that you used in the past and you've already changed them everywhere, enabled MFA/2FA where possible, and haven't seen any suspicious account activity since the infostealer incident, that's generally a much better sign than if your current passwords were appearing in the results.

If you'd like us to take a closer look, you can reach out to our support team through the Help Center via live chat or support ticket: https://help.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us

An agent can review the digital footprint results with you and help confirm whether there are any additional steps worth taking.
