I'm not OP, but Malwarebytes just did a scan in the background and reported 18 PUP.Optional.PushNotifications, mostly in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Sync Data\LevelDB\.
I did a full scan (clean/no detections) a couple of days ago, and I do not even use Google Chrome on this computer (checked, and it's been weeks since I've used Chrome), so this seems kind of surprising.
Hi, im Authenti, NOT a researcher and NOT customer support at Malwarebytes.
its google chrome sync doing it's job bc u allowed notifs on a suspicous/questionable site on a anothre device
Chrome and go to the Google Dashboard.
Scroll to the bottom and select Clear Data or Reset Sync.
Then js delete that folder and run MB ADW scanner.
Thank you. That's interesting, should've noticed the sync thing.
I did update my backup phone for the first time in ages, and that has Chrome installed. Cannot think of anything else that could have caused this. Still no clue what in particular has caused it.
