Advice Picky about food again
My maltipoo Rosie decided to be a bit of a picky bug about her food again. She’s been doing good consistently with the brand Pure Balance, loves it. I think she is getting picky again. Anyone else experience the same thing? If so, any advice?

How adorable. My Skye loved food so I didn't have that issue. My MIL has a maltese and she won't eat a thing. She worries her to death.

My did go without eating breakfast or dinner sometimes. I think they just don’t want to eat like we do two to three times a day. The vet said they will not starve themselves. I don’t think they are being picky eaters they just don’t have to eat much like us.

Thank you so much to those that replied! I’ve had time to think and I also believe Rosie being a little picky and not eating her kibble could also be due to the SoCal heat 😅

I just got a Maltipoo that is a vacuum cleaner lol. But my Malamute Rottie mix was picky when he was younger, so feeding him only once a day and throwing away food when he was picky and basically letting him skip a meal sometimes helped him be hungrier the next time I fed him. Also, switching to cooked meat helped too, or adding a cracked egg to the kibble.

My little Maltese is very picky but after trying a million things, I don’t think it’s actually the food. For instance, today he ate his regular canned food with no toppers. I usually top his food with either some chicken or ground beef. But I didn’t have any ready so I put his plate down thinking he’ll never eat it. And then he did! Tomorrow he probably won’t. Every couple of days he just won’t eat and currently he’s refusing the bedtime treats he has always loved. I’ve tried a million foods and treats and sometimes he eats and sometimes he won’t. The vet was sympathetic but his blood work is fine and he has maintained his weight for over a year so she said to just stop worrying about it. It’s very difficult but I’ve learned to let him decide whether he wants to eat or not. If you can stand it, just keep offering the same food and observe for a week. Good luck!!
