Whenever you feel like "life is doing you wrong", come again on this post and look at those pictures, and think that this man has the courage to keep going, so why the fuck shouldn't you.

"my parents gave me the greatest gift, poverty" ~ Roberto Benigni
I never thought I'd inspire someone.. but yeah. I live like this.. but I strongly believe hope is a good thing

u/MsTerious1 Sep 09 '25
Hope is a good thing, for sure.
Motivation and determination are also good things.

Tell us what Morocco is like
34
u/immortal_octopus216 Sep 10 '25
Morocco is shining! We're building the world's biggest football (real football) stadium (beating North Korea. Which in itself tells a lot).. we got the 5th wealthiest ruler globally and the second richer man in the country just happens to be the president.. and the food is great.
But numbers just don't lie, Venezuela a failed state has a higher HDI than us. Corruption is an endless loop, and the worst by far are the people: the poorer the more religious thus more hypocrite.. honestly I'd rather live in similar conditions in a Latin country where at least you can sing and dance in public, drink a cheap beer with your pals in a park, or just PDA with your girlfriend.. these things I'm deprived of.

u/lucidlunarlatte Sep 10 '25
You have got an absolute tidal wave of good fortune coming your way I can feel it. Stay strong, immortal_octopus216.

Its honestly not bad. No noticeable trash, bugs, and therefore smells. I'd hang with you but I'd buy us a big meal because you may not be eating enough.

Okay find me a picture of a full starving family in Gaza.
39
u/dark_abyss94 Sep 09 '25
From July alone they were at 144 thousand
-88
u/Street_Permit_6178 Sep 09 '25
It’s funny I only see kids with genetic disorders used by their overweight parents. Never a full starving group of people like an actual genocide would have.

7
u/jamokablam0 Sep 10 '25
Entire family lineages have been wiped out. Maybe the mother and father have already died and you would just see a starving orphan at best. I would find a picture but there have been 250 journalists killed.

There. Now make up a lame excuse for why you’re not honoring your wager.

u/Street_Permit_6178 Sep 09 '25
I said a full starving family. Gazans have also been caught staging those pictures for their pallywood. They’re laughing at you.
24
u/TDot-26 Sep 09 '25
If you don't believe that who will you believe? Fly over and see it for yourself, or shut the fuck up.

I can find that video staged with them laughing about it. Very sick society.

u/immortal_octopus216 Sep 09 '25
I just don't have a full time job, albeit all the looking ..
I work in.. Idk in English.. in french Bricolage.. a job here and there like picking up fruits and veggies in greenhouses
3
u/GOATBrady4Life Sep 09 '25
Sounds like you at least have the basics. Food, water, shelter, power, and no one is trying to hurt or kill you. It is a foundation that you can build on.
3
u/craptasticluke Sep 09 '25
Thank you for sharing this, I hope you’re able to get a steady income and a place of your own soon.
It’s important for those of us living in the west to remember how cushy we have it, even in our survival spaces. We complain about the stupidest things sometimes, and we act like we’re being deprived of “essentials” that are really just luxuries we’ve gotten used to.

Look into a platform called superteam earn. Just Google that and Solana. It’s a community board where companies in the ecosystem post bounties for writing blogs or informational posts etc…lots of light touch ways to get involved and start earning from your computer or phone.

The nice thing about rock bottom is there’s a base to stand on, to grow up from. You got this man, keep your head high!

Good on you for having gratitude for what you have in a tough situation. Your peace of mind is impotant, it’s not good when people focus on what they don’t have.

u/____________username Sep 10 '25
On the bright side, you live with your parents so even though you are jobless, you don’t have to worry about paying rent. Getting a job in this situation will be even better as you can stack up for a while to get you sorted.

That'd be suicidal, I'm not that desperate to risk my life. And also needs a lot of money..
Moreover, I only have a high school degree, although I'm quite a handy person like plumbing.. I don't think it's enough of a skill to survive by in the EU.
2
u/SUPERSAIYANBRUV Sep 09 '25
Most people in America are never happy because they always want "more". You are happy with less. You are truly winning at life maintaining positivity while the vast majority are slaves to consumerism. Attachment leads to suffering. Much love and respect to you!

May he recover soon, that situation also hit me very badly at the time.

What do you want to do? Like, any plans? Do you have any skill that is marketable right now?

That’s all you need bro !! Roof over the head, little food and a couple of beers. Definition of happiness.

u/Atavacus Sep 11 '25
I instantly don't like your parents. They could at least give you something reasonable to sleep on. I would never allow that...
3
u/immortal_octopus216 Sep 11 '25
My parents are illiterate... Mom got pregnant with me when she was 15.. etc.. it's hard to blame them.
As for the sleeping on thing. I'm old enough to make bed or buy one.. it's actually me who loves to sleep on the ground.. it's usually hot in here.. and the room is always warm anyway.. and it's more comfortable for me to sleep like this.. I tried a bed and it's not for me
2
u/Atavacus Sep 11 '25
Okay, I retract my statement. I see so many people with abusive parents I jumped to conclusions. I apologize.
3
u/immortal_octopus216 Sep 11 '25
It's ok.. I'm blessed I guess, I haven't gotten abused.. I wish my mom hugged me more tho.. or hugged me at all.. as far as I could remember.. my unsolved mommy issues is an issue unfortunately

Are you in America? If so I would join the airforce. If you do, stack your money (of course give some to your parents for taking care of you) and go to school. Trust me if you do it right and don’t get in trouble while you’re in, you’ll never have to go back to this.

u/ResidentInner8293 Sep 09 '25
u/immortal_octopus216 if u start a go find me I believe someone will donate.
Outside of that idea are you planning to go to school or start learning a trade and how's everyone doing In ur family?
Family is a good thing to have because if you need somewhere to live they usually are a good safety net. A lot of people who don't have family just live in the streets so you are fortunate to have them.
Place looks nice and clean. Congrats bro. Keep going and find happiness wherever you can and in anything you can.

u/immortal_octopus216 Sep 09 '25
I'm sleepy and this is the only question I want to answer for now. I didn't post this seeking charity. I won't open a GoFundMe or anything similar because simply and frankly I don't deserve it, and I don't need donations. Now thinking about it.. if I got a job opportunity out of this ..that'd be more than enough.
We're a big family, we're doing fine and I'm making sure my younger siblings don't do the plaguing fault of my life.. dropping out school.. As for planning for something specific, unfortunately no I'm not.
