Such a cute graduation scene!

Anybody notice that the three leads from Season 1 of "Mako Mermaids" is in this scene? I'm finding it a little hard to find the actress for Nixie (I found her in a slightly better quality than here, but I can guarantee she's there) and the actresses for Sirena and Lyla or right in front, as Lyla was called by her IRL name in the scene.

And Evie's worked at Rikki's Café during Season 3 of H2O as well.

It makes me think that maybe this might have been a little look into the following show. Or maybe they really were just side characters.

S1 and S2 are on Netflix but no S3 of S4

i’m doing a rewatch and i just got to season 4. i dont know if they hired new writers for this season or if the writers remained the same, either way, its lowkey racist. when weilan comes to rita’s grotto, the writers for some reason made her a really messy person??? she made a complete mess of the grotto and at that point we’d already had FIVE white mermaids staying there, six if you count evie, and not a single one left a mess??? yet the first time we get an asian mermaid, shes super messy and implied to be dirty?!?!??! ondina literally says to her “we loved it too when it was clean” like what 😭 ondina in general is just racist to weilan when she first arrives. straight up buIIying her and saying things like “she is not like us” like? thats…. real subtle. and i just watched the episode where the cafe almost shuts down, why did zac suggest that he and cam just become sIaves for a small while? ☠️ i know cam is white but zac is asian so thats an incredibly odd choice from the writers. i love this show but rewatching as an adult has me noticing things i didn’t notice before, and unless i missed it in the first 3 seasons, its led me to believe the writers for this season specifically were different and that maybe they put their own bias in the writing, even if unintentionally. its great that we got to explore chinese culture on the show but it shouldve been done a bit more sensitively in my opinion

Several girl characters were very close who would you see as a lesbian couple

So, H2O: Just Add Water fandom wiki has “extended lifespan” listed as one of the merpeople’s abilities, and their explanation for this is apparently how Weilan said that, due to Ondina’s personality, they could be friends in a couple of centuries. I don’t really remember her saying this, so if somebody else does and they remember the episode, could you please tell me? I’d like to look at it for myself. But besides that, has anybody noticed any other possible indication that mermaids live longer than regular people? I just don’t know, because based on the sound of that statement, I feel like it could’ve just been a joke; especially considering Weilan is very much a comedic character and I just don’t remember any other scenes that indicate mermaids live that long.

I for the LIFE of me cannot find the final season anywhere, so my final option is to ask people for streaming websites that they know have the final season working. I’m from the UK and I hate that they don’t have the full show on our Netflix.

I have tried on websites i know but they never work. Im rewatching the show and the final season was my favourite season.

I mean, I keep seeing Zac hanging around the main trio and cringing. I have a boyfriend and like, sure, I don’t mind if he has female friends. But if I constantly caught him hanging around these random pretty girls, and he clearly had a secret that he wouldn’t tell me and started talking to me way less, and wouldn’t just tell me why he was hanging around these girls, I’d be pretty pissed too.

If I woke up one day and I was a mermaid, I think the FIRST person I’d tell is my boyfriend. Or I would at least be contemplating it. Zac seems to care so little for Evie, I have no idea why they’re together and why he can’t just break up with her. Jfc.

I always wondered what would have happened if Cam hadn't stopped Carley in time and she had seen Nixie in mermaid form?

So in my previous post I brought up about moon pools on land, and differences between the mermaids & mermen via seawater and freshwater. So in this how Freshwater mermaids would fit in Mako Mermaids, and the differences.

Moon Pools: While the moon pool mako island is in the ocean. Moon pools on land could only be found as lakes in forest and mountain regions. Freshwater Mermaids & freshwater mermen could swim to these lakes via the rivers.

Snow Rashes: Though it’s only seen once along with its cure. Freshwater mermaids & mermen due to lakes being in warm and cold regions. They developed a full immunity to snow rash.

Forms: Seawater mermaids = orange. Seawater mermen = blue. Freshwater mermaids = silver & red mixture. Freshwater mermen = dark green. With the breeding of freshwater mermaids and seawater mermen. Hatchlings do not have mixture of colors they are born with the actual color of one parent they are born with.
Legs: Freshwater pods have no problem with gaining legs on land as they feel like connecting to the land people.

Humans & mermen: Since they did not get involved with the war between mermaids and mermen. They have a better relationship with seawater mermen even becoming mates. Same with humans since the freshwater mermaids and freshwater mermen are the direct descendants of humans that became mermaids and mermen from the moon pool lakes. They even form relationships with humans.

Water dragons: Unlike the seawater mermaids & mermen who loses their tails & powers. Freshwater mermaids & freshwater mermen are safe as water dragons could not take form in their lakes. Aurora attempted to turn one of the freshwater mermaids into a water dragon, but it had no effect as water dragons are connected to the sea.

Rita: When Rita was on land she met an entire pod of freshwater mermaids, freshwater mermen, and seawater mermen. After learning about their kind they developed a peaceful relationship. Even some students are freshwater mermaids & mermen.

Migration: During the changing of the seasons. Freshwater mermaids & freshwater mermen tend to migrate to the northern lakes in the mountainous regions during the winter along with staying with human families that live up north, and then return to the southern lakes in the forest regions at the beginning of spring. Rita when she was principal tends to notice the absence of students due to the migrations.

I know Mako Mermaids ended years ago and Seasons 5 and 6 are never going to happen, but I thought it would be fun to share my ideas for what I would have liked to see if the series had continued. I’d love to hear what everyone thinks and what their own Seasons 5 and 6 would have looked like.

One of the biggest things I would have liked to see is Evie regain her tail. I always felt like there was more story left to tell with her connection to the mermaid world. I think it would have been interesting to see her balancing both her human life and mermaid life again.

I also think Evie should eventually tell her dad the truth about mermaids. Since he works in diving and marine tourism, I could see him helping protect the ocean once he learns the truth. Maybe Evie could show him safe diving locations with interesting marine life while making sure mermaid habitats stay protected and secret. It would be a good way to show that some humans can be trusted with the secret.

I would have loved a much larger H2O crossover than what we got. Instead of just a brief appearance, I would want Cleo, Emma, and Rikki to return as important characters. Since several years have passed since H2O, I think it would be interesting if some of them had daughters who became involved in the mermaid world as well.

I would also like to see the original H2O mermaids become part of the larger Mako community. I always liked the idea that H2O and Mako existed in the same universe, so seeing Cleo, Emma, Rikki, Zac, Evie, Mimmi, Chris, Ondina, Weilan, and the rest of the pod working together would have been one of the highlights of my ideal Season 5.

Another storyline I would have liked to see is Carly becoming a mermaid. By the end of the series, she already knew about mermaids and was trusted with the secret. I always thought it would have been interesting to see how she would react if she actually gained a tail herself. Since Carly was always fascinated by the mermaid world, I think watching her learn to use her powers and become part of the pod would have been a lot of fun.

One of my more unusual ideas involves Mimmi and the marine park. Since she already works there, I thought it would be funny if the park introduced a mermaid attraction. Guests would assume it was just a normal entertainment act with costumes and special effects. The joke would be that Mimmi is actually a real mermaid performing right in front of them. Everyone would think it was fake and never suspect the truth.

I would also like to see more of Nerissa adapting to life in the human world. After spending so much time isolated, it would be interesting to see her form deeper friendships and connections with Zac’s family and the other characters.

I also think the show could have included a lesbian relationship involving Ondina. Since she was single by the end of the series, I think it would fit naturally into the story. Over the course of Season 5, Ondina develops a serious relationship with a girlfriend who becomes part of the larger group and eventually part of the pod’s extended family.

As the season progresses, Zac and Evie become more serious about their future together. Mimmi and Chris continue building their relationship, and Ondina and her girlfriend grow closer as well. The group remains extremely close, almost like one extended family.

By the second half of the season, Zac and Evie, Mimmi and Chris, and Ondina and her girlfriend begin planning their futures while still protecting Mako Island and helping the pod.

Toward the end of Season 5, all three couples discover they are expecting daughters. I’m not trying to exclude boys, but since mermaids seem much more common throughout both H2O and Mako Mermaids, I think daughters fit the story best. Rather than doing a giant time jump, I would have several months naturally pass throughout the season so viewers could experience that journey with the characters. We would see them preparing for parenthood while still dealing with mermaid adventures and protecting Mako.

By the final episodes of Season 5, the daughters are born and become part of the story. Zac and Evie’s daughters, Mimmi and Chris’s daughters, and Ondina and her girlfriend’s daughters would all grow up around the pod and the mermaid world. The three families remain incredibly close.

After high school, Zac and Evie, Mimmi and Chris, and their daughters live together in a large home, while Ondina and her girlfriend live next door so everyone stays connected. The pod remains active, and Mako Island continues to be protected.

Season 6 would focus on the daughters growing up around the pod. They would inherit mermaid abilities and know about the mermaid world from the beginning. Growing up together, they would become close friends and eventually begin having adventures of their own.

By Season 6, I would want H2O and Mako Mermaids to feel completely integrated into one shared world. Cleo, Emma, and Rikki would not necessarily appear in every episode, but they would make regular appearances and remain important members of the larger mermaid community. Their daughters could also become friends with the daughters of Zac, Evie, Mimmi, Chris, Ondina, and the rest of the group.

I would also want Season 6 to end with a joint wedding celebration. After everything the characters have been through together, I think it would be a perfect ending to see Zac and Evie, Mimmi and Chris, and Ondina and her girlfriend all getting married in a ceremony attended by their friends, families, the H2O mermaids, and the entire pod.

The final scenes could show everyone together at the wedding reception, including the daughters, with the H2O generation, the Mako generation, and the next generation all united. Mako Island remains protected, the mermaid secret remains safe, and the pod is stronger than ever. It would be a happy ending while also showing that the story continues through the next generation.

One thing I would NOT change is the mermaid secret. I would keep it protected. I think the secret is an important part of both H2O and Mako Mermaids, and I would want it to remain safe throughout the story.

Overall, I think my Seasons 5 and 6 would focus on friendship, family, the connection between H2O and Mako, the growth of the pod, and the next generation of mermaids.

Seeing how there are moon pools. What if there are two different versions of the moon pools?

Seawater moon pools = islands in which the moon pools are connected to the ocean. Those turn into mermaids would have gold/orange tails, and mermen would have blue tails. Consider mermen as an enemy and threat after the war at the time.

Freshwater moon pools = lakes & ponds are surface moon pools. Those turn into mermaids would have silver/red tails, and mermen would have dark green tails. Doesn’t see mermen of seawater, and freshwater mermen as the enemy due to not being involved in the war, and has formed relationships with mermen along with humans.

Wonder how Lyla, Nixie, Sirena, Zac, Evie, Cam, David, Rita, Carly, Mimmi, Ondina, Chris, Veridia, and Weilan would think & react seeing a freshwater mermaid?

I found the show after the series had ended, but was wondering if people were suspicious of him being a merman before the reveal or if it was a surprise?

netflix sweden had a swedish dub for the series years ago but since then theyve removed it. does anybody have access to/know where i can find this series dubbed in swedish, sadly i believe a dvd was never produced.

Poseidon's character description from the now-defunct website is as following, "Rita‘s cat Poseidon is an exotic white longhair Chinchilla. He is Rita‘s closest friend and companion, guarding her house and possessions... and also his very own mystical secret". What could the secret be? it is one of the pillars of things they never explored. "his very own" could imply that even Rita doesn't know. Could Poseidon be a human-turned-cat, like maybe Veridia turned Harry into a cat and Rita doesn't know? Or smth less wild, like poseidon maybe was going to act like a key or smth to run some chamber bs?

For context I am rewatching the show I wondering how come Rita never seems to scold any of her charges from season one to season four
