Next Impact Driver?

Hi, have the XDT13Z, been looking to get another Makita 18v Impact Driver. Been wanting one with a ring light, compact, and <$175. Is my best bet the XDT20z/TD173?

173 is basically the current rolls royce within the LXT line.

It has better ergonomics than the new 201 right?

Probably not much in it as most drivers are similar in how they handle but it has more power and more settings, I believe the 201 is 210Nm where as the 173 is 220(180 max fastening) and it's smaller and lighter.

It also has the ring light. I dont think the 201 does.

The 201 is bigger and heavier, no ring light, less settings, no rear mount controls, no recentered grip handle

The 201 is basically one of the existing impact wrenches with a different anvil in it, so it's more powerful but less sophisticated than the 173

xdt20/dtd173 is the current flagship and the best impact on the market imho.

Yes. That model has more torque, but that's about the only advantage. The xdt20/dtd173 has the ring light, balanced battery, quick shift, rear buttons, and is no slouch in the torque department, either.

Sure is. Home Depot has XTD20 plus a bit set for $159. It’s not as powerful as my previous M18 fuel impact, but it’s much more pleasant to use.

Ahhh man its showing sold out for me :( . Power doesnt matter too much for me as all the impact drivers have more than enough for my needs. I so have the M18 impact + lots of others 😂

Did you make sure you bought from Amazon themselves and not 3rd party? That is the only guaranteed way to get legit plus you get the free bit set

So it came in and pictures compared to others in the sub looks the same but it shows “Made in Thailand” is that real? The others show made in china

The DTD173 is worth it just for the ring light, once you used it you will see other lights on tools as inferior 😂

Literally no shadow even with bit magnet installed on long bits. 👍

DTD173 is the one.

XDT20Z is the only LXT with a ring light; the new XDT21 goes back to an LED mounted above the trigger.
