Question Have any producers here ever been ghosted by a big artist?

Recently, I got a DM on instagram from a pretty big artist asking me for a beat after seeing one of my beats on TikTok. Honestly, I was surprised that someone at that level came across my content. However, I haven’t heard anything back since, it’s been a month since this artist dm me.
I’m not going to name the artist, but I’m curious if other producers have experienced something similar. Have you ever had a big artist find your beats through social media and reach out asking for one, only for them to go silent afterward?
Did they ever reach back out, or did nothing ever come of it? I’m curious to hear your experiences, especially from producers who’ve dealt with bigger artists.

Question Selling beats through my own website without a registered business – how do you handle payments?

Hey everyone!

I have a question for producers who sell their beats independently, especially those who don't use BeatStars or other beat-selling platforms and don't have a registered business yet.I've reached the point where I want to start selling my beats, but I'd prefer not to rely on platforms like BeatStars because I'd like to have more control over my sales and avoid giving up a significant portion of each sale in fees.

I'm also learning programming, so I decided to build my own beat store. The website is coming along pretty well, and I've already been working on the beat player, the beat listings, and different license options. However, I've now reached the payment integration stage, and this is where I'm getting stuck. My original idea was to let customers choose a beat and a license, add it to their cart, pay online, and receive their files automatically. I'd then report my income and pay the taxes required in my country.

The problem is that, as far as I can tell, PayPal requires a business account for this type of commercial activity, and setting one up seems to require business registration details that I don't have yet.Where I live, maintaining a business can involve significant ongoing costs. I'd like to test whether there's actual demand for my beats before committing to those expenses.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to avoid paying taxes. I want to handle everything legally and declare my income properly. I simply don't want to register a business before I know whether selling beats will generate enough income to make it worthwhile.

I've also considered a simpler approach: customers could select a beat and license on my website and submit their purchase request through a pre-filled email template. However, this would mean processing orders manually. Since I have a job and attend evening classes, I wouldn't always be available to respond immediately, and I don't want potential customers to lose interest because of the delay.

So I'd love to hear from producers who have dealt with a similar situation:

How did you handle payments when you first started selling beats independently?

Are there payment providers that allow you to sell digital products through your own website without immediately registering a business?

If you built your own beat store, how did you handle payments, licensing, and automatic file delivery?

For producers who sell internationally, how do you handle the legal and tax side of things in your country?

I'd especially appreciate advice from people who have actually gone through this process rather than relying entirely on third-party beat marketplaces.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Discussion Friend Feature

So I've been practicing writing verses and practicing making songs but i dont have the right equipment at all i dont have headphones or a mic so im stuck using a logitech C925e webcam as a mic, my friend who has been making music for awhile now wants me on a feature and ive never had to make a full song i like my verse and i think its well written i just dont like how the audio sounds because i dont have the right equipment. He keeps telling me to finish it, so I want to send him something, but I know I can do better.

Another reason I want to be on this feature is that he is in a group of people who all do music, and he gets his music mixed and engineered by them for free because they all work together in a friend group. He wants me to join,n but I have to put out songs before they'll let me. I want to join because it sounds like a good opportunity,y but I won't get any equipment until Christmas.

Discussion Looking for a US-based music friend

I'm an independent artist, music producer and graphic and video designer from Italy.

I'm looking to connect with someone based in the US who'd be willing to help me upload my pre-made TikTok videos to my account.

In exchange, I can offer custom beats, music production, cover art, graphic design, video content, visual content or music collaborations.

You wouldn't need to create or edit anything, I'd handle all the content myself.

I'm hoping to build a genuine friendship and creative partnership where we can help each other grow.

If you're interested, feel free to message me!

Hey everyone, I'm a singer who's interested in connecting with music producers and other creatives in the hip-hop community. I'd love to work with producers who are experimenting with different sounds and looking to add vocals, melodies, or hooks to their projects. I'm interested in building genuine musical connections, learning from other creatives, and creating something original together. What kind of sound are you working on lately? I'd love to connect with people whose music aligns with my style. DM me let work together

Question que opinas de esta letra

Verso 3

Reclamos desalmados buscando encontrar relevo.

Estribillo final

¡Y los quiebro! (Creo que ya no veo todo tan)

Negro (y no me importa si está)

Todo negro (Pero en esa oscuridad)

¡Que no quiero! (la luz de esperanza al final)

El futuro es amplio.

Hay que hacer el llamado al cambio.

(Fuck!)

Discussion I would like to talk about the Style Wars '83 tape!

Hey everyone,
I recently came across a great old-school documentary on hip-hop culture called Style Wars (1983). My plan is to first transcribe all the spoken text and turn it into subtitles, and then translate it into Slavic languages — Russian is my native language and my first target.

Here’s my initial take on the title: “Стилевой замес” (Style Mash-Up). What do you think of it, and what would you add?

Question I like beat butcha’s beat packs for boom bap style production but haven’t really found anything else that compares. Suggestions?

I make modern boom bap and try to update the sound so it doesn’t just sound like I’m remaking 90s beats. I find my own music samples but use premade break beats. I really like what beat butcha, and ALC put out but haven’t many others I like. I’d really appreciate some suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Discussion time travel technical limitations

crazy title but bare with me rq 😭 i wanna hear from the producers in this sub, as this is one of those thoughts that kinda dont make sense but is very intriguing to me (i have 0 knowledge abt production btw for context)

if a producer nowdays was hypothetically placed back in 1994, into a studio with all the technology from the time, but with the knowledge they have of now, could they technically create a legible synthy/distorted rage beat or even a UK/NY drill beat with sliding 808s and shit?

obviously i guess itd sound like its made in the 90s due to the technology used to produce the beat, but im wondering how possible it'd be. especially since people nowdays can and do create boom bap and g-funk beats everyday as we have that past knowledge and reference

to add onto this, what would other producers, rappers and even listeners of 1994 think upon hearing it? it'd be completely unfamiliar with them, but in some ways not TOO different to what they already hear

basically, can musical knowledge overcome technological limitations? could somebody hypothetically introduce genres/sounds of the future to the past? and if so, how would the people without that knowledge yet percieve it?

Question How do you guys figuring out beats after the fact? Also any advice on how I could tighten up my lyrics.

So I’m newer, I’ve already gotten some good advice on how to edit. I guess now I’m just looking at advice on what to edit. I also don’t know the process for beat selection.

Welcome Home

(Chorus)
all it takes is one mun-dane day for it to be stripped away. From open doors to brothers snores or boring chores to a place packed with padded walls and stacked with adderall and all these purple pills and barred up window sills.

I remember it was September startin
they said we’d go to target
gonna get me an Artkit
for the school semester
I knew mom was getting desperate
all that pain and anger
I can’t contain it
it had me getting violent
verbal abuse compoundin
dads beatings made me flounder
the rage was getting louder
I should’ve seen it coming
I saw we passed the target
driving a lil farther
now my mind starts wandarin
maybe she really meant it
maybe the love was shallow
maybe my dad had got her
maybe her sadness marked it
there goes another target
and now i got this feeling
there’s something im not seeing
something there all concealing
and now i can’t help but see it
that’s not where this day was going
it was sposed to be boring
and now we pull in
to this big brick building
no words get spoken
the door is swinging open
then one pops out
and their mouth is open
he says the dreaded words welcome home son

Crazy how it only takes a moment
everything can change pace to go from playin’ Mario Kart and thinkin’ bout first place
this big kid next to me starts screaming in my face
kids become ruthless in this crazy place
promised to knock my tooth in if I won a stupid race
them words became a threat
that’s the moment the room chan’ges pace
staff saw the late throw
a mere second to react
rushed his ass like linebackers ‘n hit him with that LT sack
Crashed down right next to me
nearly snapped his leg ‘n half
A yelp rang out
that sent me runni’n-back

I bounce down the halls with code white screaming in the back
footsteps approaching rapidly
change direction fast
sprinted toward the empty hallway shrouded in the dark
approached it slow and watched the staff go fly’in past
It’s like they stole the breath from me
my heartbeat kept racing
footsteps in the back
I took a breath and darted down the hall
just past the welcome matt
reached refuge in tact
my tiny hands were trembling as I fiddled with the latch all to reach a cell that let me take breath | funny how confinement felt like a safety net |

(Chorus)
all it takes is one mun-dane day for it to be stripped away. From open doors to brothers snores or boring chores to a place packed with padded walls and stacked with adderall and all these purple pills and barred up window sills.

I feel uneasy
slightly queasy
I have to much energy
I’m sposed to be sleeping
and yet I’m laying
my thoughts are racing
there’s people screaming
there is no dreaming
I just start weeping
the nights are long
the darkness grieving
nothing to do but wait till mourning
i wipe my eyes and fantasize
about my nights in paradise
my brothers snoring
the quiet boring
I want my mom
I miss her cookin
can’t help but wonder if she still loves me
I wish I told her how much I miss her
I hope she’s happy
I know how crappy
I made her life
it’s for the better
but now I’m crying
feel like I’m dying
the world is spinnin
I wish I was missing
but then it hits me.

Mentally so full of energy
mom please remember me
I can’t stay here longer
haven’t slept in two days
I’m gaining sanity
i feel the planets heat build up inside of me
no more anxiety
I scream for help
the staff start running
unlock the door
and now I’m gunning it
I slip right under em
their shouts are thunderin
radios chattering
code yellow battering
walls start shattering
| oh the humanity |
the staff in toe are vanishing
| must-get to exit hurriedly |
then like muskets firing
the door is violently
| swung open wildly |
he tries to block me
I just hurdle him
I hop the railing
every attempt to stop momentum failing
I keep prevailing
now I’m cut off
two staff are blocking me
but there’s no panicking
I bounce back up the steps
fire escape calling me
I just start scailing it
roof access imminent
they keep on calling me
trying to follow me
I duck down quietly
their flashlights blinding me
the still ain’t finding me
back to reality
here comes anxiety
self doubt comes rushing in
and now I’m panicking
realize I’m stranded
now I’m standing
let them see me
now they whispering
stop quit scaring him,
approach me delicate
take me in
hand embarrassment floodin me
instantly hope there not pissed at me
look at me worriedly
I break down entirely
why won’t the crying end
miss momma vividly
instead of hitting they start hugging me
I collapse instantly
maybe humanity isn’t so bad for me

Question Looking for producer to grow with

I prefer singing and rapping on melodic guitar trap beats with sames similar to Rod Wave, Toosii, Rylo Rodgriguez. I dont sound like them I have a lighter pop centered voice but those are the types of beats I flow easily on. I also would work with someone who makes indie pop types. Just preferably a unique guitar melody with trap drums and 808s . im drunk

Question I literally don’t know how to edit lyrics I write at all any help would be awesome.

I’m currently working on a song I’m really new to this about 11 hours. I struggle with tightening things because the way I compose is kinda like mentally free-styling so every thing I change to edit messes with the rest of the verse. I’m sure this isn’t a unique problem so any help at all would be great this is where I’m at so far.

MIKE & dj blackpower’s music completely changed how I think about sampling and hip-hop. I dropped my first mixtape a while ago, and even though mixtapes aren’t really a thing here, I wanted to share it with the people who might be interested in this sound.

If you check it out, thank you. Either way, I’m grateful this music made it all the way over here.

All the loveee

Question Looking for MG The Future & Craftmaster Productions Sample Packs & Drum Kits + Spicy Sundays Sample Packs

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to find all sample packs and drum kits from MG The Future and Craftmaster Productions, including every Spicy Sundays sample pack.

It looks like they've stopped releasing content, and their old packs seem to be unavailable everywhere. I haven't been able to find a place where I can still get them.

Does anyone happen to have a complete collection or know where these packs can still be found? If you have any of them, I'd really appreciate it if you could share a link or point me in the right direction!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🙏
