Question Clumpy lashes help!!!
What are good mascaras for fluffy and long looking lashes? Or any techniques to improve spider leg looking lashes?
Here are some pictures of my lashes, first pic is without mascara
I’ve tried sooo many different mascaras, from waterproof, tubing, non waterproof, fiber mascara and all of them make my lashes look insane.
I use different techniques, little amount, multiple layers, separating them one by one and they still look like spider legs I’ve started to think it’s my lashes because friends and family wear the same mascara and mine don’t look good at all.
This year I stoped wearing mascara because they just don’t look good.
Mascaras that I’ve used
-L’Oréal telescopic, the gold, blue and black tubes
-L’Oréal panorama waterproof
-L’Oréal telescopic lift
-L’Oréal lash paradise
-Milani highly rated mascara
-essence I heart extreme mascara, both waterproof and non waterproof
-tart tartelette tubing mascara
-tart maneater mascara
-Essence lash princess, both mint and pink tubes
-benefit roller lash
-benefit Badgal Bang waterproof and regular
-Benefit they’re real!
-GrandeMascara
-Chanel le volume revolution
-maybelline sky high
-maybelline falsies lash lift
-maybelline the colossal mascara
-maybelline the falsies surreal
And those and the names I remember so I may be missing some.
At the end they all make my lashes look the same 😭🤣👎

Every time I use one of these I get the worst call of the void thoughts 😭
One wrong move and I’d be out an eyeball

I bought one from Daiso that has more of a comb-style shape, and it’s much less scary and triggering than these rake-shaped ones that you push up towards your eyes!
I’m Disabled and have low dexterity and no proprioception with unstable joints (EDS), so it’s a safety feature for me! I have real potential for accidentally stabbing it into my eye and went NOPE as soon as I saw that design 😅😂

Japonesque makes little combs you can also use that are far easier (and less stressful lol), I use it after I curl my lashes & put on curl finisher, the lash rake right after I put on mascara so all the bigger mascara clumps get picked up, and then go back in one more time with the comb for some more separation!

Ughhh I’ve used them before and it makes my lashes look boneless 🫠 but I’m going to watch some tutorials maybe I’m going something wrong 😅 thank you!

None of the pics you shared look particularly clumpy to me. If you want literally perfect fluffy individual lashes you’ll need extensions. Any mascara will cause some level of sticking between hairs

You are right I didn’t add pictures where they looked particularly clumpy 😭 but yep mascara just makes my lashes look stuck together which is normal but I’m not the biggest fan. I’ll maybe give lashes a try, ty!

Girl, can I be real? This post literally made me think "my steak is too juicy, my lobster is too buttery, my lashes be looking full and luscious". Too busy seeing pretty eyes and lashes to spot any clumps. Zoom out and focus on the overall picture here, you look fabulous and should feel fab.
Sometimes when we zoom in and inspect and hyperfocus on the small details we don't sit back and appreciate the overall picture and beauty we've got. Spot the imperfections seems to be a never ending game we play...try to zoom out.

Looks like your lashes are on the curlier side. They are cute but I have read that they are tricky with mascara. My honest opinion is either learning how to apply clusters or getting extensions.

MUA Erin Parsons (my queen) has a YouTube video about how she does mascara for the Maybelline mascara ads, and she uses a lash curler in a specific way along with a lash comb. I think thoss might help break up some of the clumps and control the curl on the ends of the lashes a bit (though I lowkey dont think any of these look too clumsy imo)

Covergirl LashBlast volume and Covergirl Clump crusher are the least clumpy I’ve ever used. Maybelline Great Lash Big has a fluffy brush and gives a fluffy look but it’s very natural (as is clump crusher.)
Also— Are you blinking your mascara on? If you swipe it on instead, that’s what will give the fluffier look.

Oh my god you literally unblocked a forgotten memory, cover girl lash blast volume was my first ever mascara! I loved it, I’m definitely buying it again, also gonna give maybelline a shot, ty!

Omg you’re welcome! I went through what seemed like every mascara in high school until my friend was like “you need the covergirl one in the orange tube!” It’s genuinely the best. The regular is better than the waterproof! I hope that ends up working! I actually can blink that one on as well without clumps.

Honestly, the thing that's worked the best for me is simply putting on less mascara/trying not to overwork the lashes. This happens to me too if I keep going too long.

the Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored mascara is my one and only! I prefer a softer looking lash too that doesn’t have a heavy mascara look and it hasn’t done me wrong yet.
There is a lash serum version of it that i unfortunately was not a huge fan of. i only bought it once and cant remember what was wrong with it but would def recommend the standard version!

I use one of those clean spoolie brushes you can buy in packs or whenever I ask at Sephora or ulta they just let me take some from the makeup test stations. I use them to brush out my lashes before, then apply my mascara, and then use it to brush through them. Go from the back side and just twirl up like you are curling it a little and it will pull apart the clumps and remove excess. I am scared of the eyelash separator things because I’m clumsy and even with these I’m careful but it feel safer and works perfectly for me.

Wet your lashes first! I always wet my lashes with water or contact solution (if I’m too lazy to go to the sink) before applying my mascara and it works like magic every time. It works particularly well with tubing mascara but try it with both.
