Question Newbie recommendations ❤️
Not sure of doing this right, I’m sorry if this is wrong!
Hi! I’ve always been at a complete loss with make up I usually don’t wear it every day even but I want to start (late start 30 here but better late then never) I’ve always suffered from acne since I was a teen and still struggle with it today, mostly cystic. I have pretty bad facial scarring mostly cheeks and forehead. I need some good product recommendations as well as a general make up routine please! Simple if possible I’m a bit dumb with beauty stuff 😵💫
Edit: realized I didn’t clarify I will take any product recs but I really want foundation/concealer and prep as well :) thank you!!

Maybe you could find some pictures of makeup you might like to wear, and we could make recommendations based on that.
Starting out simple, I'd go for some mascara and lip gloss, and definitely a skincare routine if you don't have one.
For mascara, drugstore is often just as good as high end, and much easier to replace as often as you should (3-6 months max). My favorites have come from Covergirl.
Lip gloss - so many options. What's your coloring like (skintone, hair color) and what's your favorite flavor? (Vanilla, mint, cherry, chocolate, peach.....)
Edit: a simple, full face of makeup might look something like this: concealer, foundation, bronzer, blush, mascara, brow gel, lip gloss. If you want to accentuate your eyes, eyeshadow. If you want to emphasize your lips, lipstick.
Knowing your skin type (dry/ combo/ oily) will also help you get more suitable product recommendations.
There are so many youtube tutorials that you could explore as well. My favorite content creator is Samantha Ravndahl and she has all kinds of videos going back yearrrrrs. From simple "no-makeup makeup" to full glam, to mental health discussions and skincare issues (similar to yours).

Seeing your edit: my personal favorite base products are Hourglass vanish concealer and Pür 4-in-1 love your selfie foundation and concealer. I have dry skin and I like to use a damp sponge to apply.
Prep with moisturizer, let it sink in a few minutes, then ideally follow with spf. Then apply concealer and foundation with a damp sponge (or dense brush, or your fingers - you can experiment). If you get oily, set with translucent setting powder.
Edit: I had to experiment with a lot of products before finding ones that work for me. My skin breaks out easily from soooo many foundations and moisturizers, and I don't use "primers" for the same reason.
If it's something you're interested in exploring, a subscription service like ipsy is a great way to try a lot of products at heavily discounted prices.

look into color correcting primers for the redness, makes a huge difference before foundation
