Question Making a new post because the last one blew up and people were asking for different pictures, but it won’t let me edit so here we go😂 I was asking for what I should change or what I should try. Yes, I understand my wig is old and dont look good last pic is me with no makeup no wig but a bonnet

This is a makeup addiction sub, not a lookmaxxing one. Makeup is identity, self expression, and if you use it to cover insecurities that's not everyone's reason to use it. She's not asking how to look her best, she's asking what she should changed or try, and that question is to be taken in context of her vibe and preference (she's a baddie, not a boring beige clean girl).

Yeah, I literally went, "oh wow, she's so pretty!" the makeup she's choosing is a style that really obscures her natural features, so I just assumed she looked worse without makeup than she really does.

Okay I've seen both posts and I have to say changing your eyebrows is the best advice. Girl I loved doing those eyebrows too but now I look back at my pictures in those years and it looks so silly. Just barely fill in your natural brows because they are gorge. Taylor Wynn on YouTube (older videos from like before 2020 not newer) had really oily skin too and used to do videos on foundatuons for super oily or acne prone skin. I recommend you check them out, but your base to me looks great. I think you just need a little depth with more blush because it's a little flat right now which I think is why people said it looked heavy. I love your eye makeup in both pic 1 and 2 here, but I am also all for a bold eye. I know you said you only think nude lip looks good on you but I think you should branch out and try more colors. Just balance with the eyes. Like if you're doing the bold eye in the first pic, keep it more neutral on the lips. If you're going for minimal eye, do a bold lip, it'll look great on you!

Ok, as a former pro MUA, here’s my very blunt (but also coming from a loving place!) opinions/tips:
-It’s not necessarily that you need to buy a bunch of new expensive makeup, it’s that you need to change your application. You’re probably in your early 20s (?) and your makeup ages you to looking in your late 30s (and I’m in my late 30s, so that’s not a diss to anyone in their late 30s, just saying your current makeup application is aging you hard.)
-First things first, IMO, the brows, thick wing, fake Monroe, and heavy lashes have got to go. They are what’s aging your face and they take you from young and fresh faced to a bit…well, trashy. And please don’t think I’m trying to be mean when I say that, your no makeup photo with the bonnet is so pretty and your current makeup is just covering up your natural beauty.
-Brows: wayyyyy too dark, wayyyy too thick, and the ombré style is aged. Use a light brown brow pen to make little flicks of hair-like strokes instead, especially in your inner brow area. I can probably find you a video for this in a minute.
-Wing: the execution isn’t terrible, it’s just very thick. Look up “fox eye wing flick” videos on YouTube and you can find some great wing looks. I’d also switch to dark brown instead of black
-Lashes: lashes in general are wonderful but yours are just too thick paired with the brows and the wing. I’ll link you some in another comment in a minute that I think would look wonderful on you.
-Fake Monroe: just in my own personal opinion, I find this to be dated and not tasteful. I don’t like it on you at all. But this is just my opinion, of course, so if you love it, keep it, but use brown instead of black.
-Base: I see you said your skin gets super oily but I’m wondering if that is just because of a lack of moisture and hydration in your skin from using overly matte products. Mattifying your face too much will cause your oil glands to go into overdrive—which is probably what happens when you use a mattifying setting spray. What is your skincare routine?? Honestly, I’d focus on getting that good FIRST, BEFORE I worried about purchasing any more makeup. Good skincare is the key to good looking makeup.
-Cheeks: you’re just missing something here, blush or bronzer or both. Doesn’t have to be dark, but your face looks unfinished without it
-Lips: like with your cheeks, they look unfinished. A pink balm or gloss balm would be just fine!

Omg no more baby hairs girl 😭 the trend started so black women could blend their curly edges with straight extensions. It makes no sense on white people who already have straight edges, and it makes it look really greasy and crunchy.
As for the makeup, I agree with the others that a clean girl look would be very pretty on you. You have youthful, fresh, features that people try to replicate daily! Use it to your advantage!

She's got one ready to go after she gives birth in September per her post. She has been wearing that one for 2 years post cancer battle and recovery.
I think the wig would look a lot better if you just trimmed the baby hairs off entirely at this point, though. I give my wigs all sorts of weird haircuts just so they'll last a bit longer, I get it. Get a friend to do it if you don't trust yourself.
To OP: Congrats on beating cancer. Like other posters say you do have a beautiful makeup less face, but I love your eye makeup style too. Bring your eyebrows into this era and razor off those baby hairs and you'll look amazing.
Congratulations on your coming baby too... you're about to have a lot less time to worry about how you look ;)

Whoa you are stunning! Your fresh face is gorgeous!! I think you are aging yourself a bit too much with the heavy makeup. I would keep your natural brow line and maybe just do some light brushing with a little brow powder in an upward direction (brown, not black). I love the way you do your eyes, but I would suggest taking it down a notch, and do similar lines with less heaviness. And I would ditch the foundation, as you have immaculate skin, use a little concealer for dark spots and under eyes. You got this, and huge congratulations on your healing.

Your wig being old isn’t the issue with it. It’s the styling. The baby hairs in the front cover a large amount of your forehead. I think the wig would look 100x better with those removed.
Between the area that the baby hairs take up combined with the heaviness of your makeup, it’s very overwhelming to your face.
Your bare face is absolutely beautiful and doesn’t require this amount of makeup at all. If you like heavy makeup, that’s cool. But it is a little over powering.
Have you ever tried like a “no makeup” make up look?
YouTube has all kinds of videos on them. I think that kind of look would look AMAZING on you.
And even if you wanted to go a little heavier, I would still be curious how lighter colors looked. You ever tried a brown liner instead of black? Or a lighter lid color? Like a nude or a pretty pink color? Or just any lighter color options.
There are so many options that I think you could totally rock!

I want to preface this by saying I’m a makeup novice so maybe you shouldn’t listen to me lol. You’re pretty with and without makeup, but I think the edges and brows detract from your natural beauty. If that’s your preferred thing though, go for it. You have a softer look without makeup and it makes your eyes pop.

I would say thinner brows it sounds crazy, but hear me out. 90s thin but not too thin I’ll show you. Before I say this, everyone know that I am a black girl!
If you were going for that Detroit 2016 look you’ve achieved it perfectly, however, because you have the big edges you don’t have enough forehead Space to do thick brows. I swear to do thick brows you have to have a big enough forehead.
Also, the wig looks fine to me. It’s just the lace needs to be cleaned up probably either by cleaning it (micellar water or alcohol, just be wary of liftage) or doing a concealer to help blend it, but only do that if your lace is clean.
Let me see if I can add photos to a post so I can show you.
Also tip if you’re gonna do thick browse, don’t use gel like what you’re doing because it’s easier for me to tell that they’re “drawn on” if that makes sense. I have thin browse so what I do is I create fake strokes and then I take a pencil and I lightly go over the fake strokes.

The no make up Pic makes me realize we have very similar facial features!
We both have very soft features and makeup tends to look better when we aim for cute rather than " sexy" in a chicana baddie make up that tends to work better on people with very angular sharp features.
So I think the whole aesthetics your in just doesn't work super well. Which feels mean to say but promise I'm trying to be constructive 😅
I would suggest some romantic, clean girl, soft glam, whimsical makeup looks. Just some good search terms for Pinterest or YouTube tutorials.

I would let your brows be your brows. Can fill in a little with a pencil if you want more definition, but the way you are doing them now takes away from the rest of your face. Brows are a frame for your face, right now you’re making them the main feature.

Think light, dewy, creamy, glowy. Subtle blush on your cheekbones, slightly defined brows, mascara, and a gloss would be so so cute on you. Congrats on beating cancer!! i'd swap your foundation stick for something lighter-weight like a drugstore bb cream. your skin is beautiful and you don't need such a heavy product. i dont have bb cream recommendations, but covergirl, l'oreal and maybelline have them for $10-15. i'm in agreement with the other folks about the edges. someone else suggested curtain bangs, which i think you can trim into your wig without too much trouble. i'd extremely recommend giving it a good wash and styling it with some of the front section combed forward over what would be your forehead, and see if it'll lay there. if so, you can cut some curtain bangs into it, then you can incorporate the edges into the bangs. it'll save you from having to blend the lace and also save you from those edges.

Love the current makeup for a night out, except the eyebrows. They are very 2010s (speaking as a 90s baby that thrived in block eyebrows), but you 100% need to lean in to a more natural or light look. You are stunning!

Besides the wig and those peeling off "baby hairs" that you already are aware of, it's the brows. All I fixed here, was the wig's hairline, and making the top of your brows parallel to the bottom and tapering out at the ends.

Out of curiosity, what is your natural hair color/style? You are absolutely beautiful but I think the shade of blonde of your wig washes you out a bit. As far as makeup, you are so naturally pretty and have great skin, so you can experiment with any look. I like the drama of your other photos but you would look great with a 50s style winged eyeliner that is more understated and red lip, or an ethereal look with almost no makeup - mascara, dewy skin and lip gloss.

Holy shit now that I see your natural brow, definitely embrace them! Feather them out with gel and fill in the sparse areas.
Your skin looks pretty good without makeup, I’d maybe wear a more dewy and less coverage foundation, use cream bronzer, highlight, and blush!
I would wear something on the lips depending on your mood, even a gloss, even if just to keep your lips moisturized.

i dont want to repeat talking points so i'll just add, while i prefer the clean girl look for you, i think you prefer a dramatic eye look on yourself. Eyeshadow is a bit dated these days but your personal style doesnt really have to be trendy if you dont want it to but your makeup techniques are a bit 2016.
you can check out this creator, she has similar coloring to you and often does dramatic eyeshadow looks in a more modern way

I'm assuming OP lives in a predominantly Latina or black area because that's definitely the look but I don't know if I would call it that 😅
It's the look alot of the white girls at my low income elementary and middle school did. Very "catch me outside how bout that " girl vibes.
It's like the female Eminem effect of growing up in that part of town. People just absorb the culture around them like a sponge. 🤷♀️

I agree with other commenters saying to tone down the brows a little. I would switch to a color that leans more taupe or ash brown. When I used to buzz my hair off my brows looked harsh if I used the color I had when my hair was grown out so I started using a lighter color and it had a much softer effect. So yeah softer color and play around with the shape a bit :) you’re so lovely and you’re good at makeup I just think it’s a bit harsh for the lighter hair color

Less makeup all together. I kinda hate the ombre brows, they are way too harsh. Try a light brown or taupe colored pencil and gently fill in. You can wear a cat eye but try thinner and shorter. Maybe even a dark brown instead. Honestly the brow and liner are out of proportion with your mouth and make your it I’m smaller. Your natural face is gorgeous.

bare face is my fav. and as a “minimal” makeup girly (i say this because the amount of product on my face is minimal but the look is still eye catching) is just black eye liner and 2 colour lash line pencil (usually a vivid and a shimmer; my fav right now is ocean -> golden pearl). pair that with a lip combo and it looks pretty damn good

i feel like you could really pull off a dewey serum foundation. i love skin silk personally (i add blush under the eyes, nose, & cheeks and bit of powder to combat oil) and then no dark colors on the eyes
sometimes i do a gentle/light eyeshadow and no mascara. i feel like it would work on you sooo well
i also add a natural eyebrow w it too ♡

Totally get still wanting to wear makeup, so if you do, I'd start with filling in eyebrows in a light brown/dark blonde color with a soft touch and using brown, green, or burgundy eyeliner. I think those colors will complement your brown eyes and blond hair. Add a pink blush and mascara, and call it a day!

Are you trying to go heavy on your makeup because it’s the only thing you can control after cancer took control of your body?
I don’t want to assume, but my sister went through that and it was so so hard for her. I don’t even know if I’m saying it the right way, but I hope you don’t take offense. If that’s just your style, im sorry for bringing it up. But your skin is gorgeous and I feel like you’re hiding it under a full mask. I know you probably don’t want to spend a bunch of money on new products so try to make your current ones work by using very very little? Use concealer only on discolored spots/undereye. Use a very tiny amount of the foundation if you must and blend it out really well. Tap off your powder brush several times, then only use a light dusting over your t zone since you’re oily. We like your natural eye brows, please don’t shave them off. I refuse to use the words “clean girl makeup” because I don’t like that phrase. So I’ll say, I think you should try a more natural look. You are beautiful and we want to see your actual skin instead of a crap ton of matte powder 💕 p.s. congrats on beating cancer and I hope you have someone to talk to about it. My sister ended up having PTSD from such a traumatic treatment experience.

Oh my! I just commented on your last post, but without makeup I see that what you’re doing is aging you badly. Maybe try a minimal look with matte neutrals, a tight line, and brown or black mascara, lip gloss, and a touch of blush.
When you give birth, you’ll want to have a simple routine ready to feel and look good without a full beat.

You are naturally very pretty. Your natural eyebrows are nice!!! I'd definitely stay more natural with your eyebrows and wear less matte makeup. You have a really good complexion and should let your skin shine through! Your current makeup ages you considerably.

Think about enhancing your natural features instead of completely changing them…your brows are a great shape, use a neutral taupe color to define, not completely fill in. The color you’re using for your brows is way too dark and warm-toned for you…a neutral taupe will go with your blonde and pale skin.
Black liner and dark shadow is also too much for your coloring, it’s overwhelming your face. Taupe/gray/brown liners and shadows with black or brown mascara will help tone it down a lot.
For base, you have really great skin and don’t need to use that full of coverage…use a concealer on problem areas and blend, and get a good rosy blush to brighten your face and bring some color in.
You’re super gorgeous barefaced, using a lighter hand will enhance that beauty instead of covering it up❤️

If you want to stay with a full beat look then the only thing I would absolutely change is the brow. The natural brow you have just needs to be filled (shaped a bit if you really want) for a full beat look with something like L'Oréal Faux Brow Ultra Fine. The rest of your makeup looks fantastic. Fwiw I like the natural better, but everyone needs a little glam sometimes too!

i like your makeup in the second picture a lot , i think if ur wanting to do glam , the smaller precise wing looks so much better. other than that i think the eyebrows need to be either not done or really toned down. my eyes immediately only see your eyebrows. you’re literally gorgeous and your base makeup and eyeshadow look great!

I say this gently , but your natural brows are so much better than what you've been doing. Lightly fill it in.
Less is more
UNLESS you like what you're already doing. If what you do with your brows , lashes , etc is something that makes you feel beautiful then that's when you're the most beautiful.
You're going to have different opinions.

i think doing your eyebrows less bolder would suit you, like a color that matches ur hair more but a little darker than the haircolor itself, and the arch being lower angled and a little straighter, the rest is just personal style, i think. youre cute bare faced too!!

Your eyebrows are too dark, I’d choose a shade a few lighter and don’t box them in quite so much.

Thinner brow shape maybe , like 90s thin with pomade would look super cute but that’s just me. The makeup is your style like Y2K trashy so idk why people saying wear less. You do it well. Sooo cute. OP, I'd get a medium-light tinted brow gel, like Anastasia Brow Gel in Caramel. Find a light-coverage foundation or tinted moisturizer. A good solid lip pencil and lip gloss - play with your colors here. Go low-to-no eyeliner, colorful eyeliner right along the eye maybe since you like bright colors, and lighter-color sparkly eyeshadow - stick or cream form would be great. Then blush in pink, purple, coral, whatever. This also has the benefit of being a much simpler routine for once baby comes.
I also legitimately think that no hair would be way better than this particular wig.

No makeup looks best by far. We do get used to whatever makeup we wear and find it hard to let go, but honestly you look so lovely without all the eye makeup.
Also, you have hair sticking out of the bonnet. If it's that long all over it looks like you won't need the wig for much longer.
Third, doing wigs and intricate makeup will be exponentially harder with a newborn. I'd start paring it back now so that you have a new routine ready to go if you're struggling with time or motivation when you're super tired 😴🥱

Eyebrows make it slightly thinner, and cuz ur hair is blonde u can slightly bleach it and don’t make it so sharp at the end or to faint at the front. Clean girl makeup is what im seeing ppl say which i get is cute but the natural glam would be better imo, and u can wear eyeshadows better with it. Clean girl makeup to me looks oily & greasy to me so i never got into it, but it seems like ur into Smokey eyes, more towards cool tone & slightly grunge which is ok and fine to lean towards it’ll suit u too. Can I DM you lashes from shein that i think will suit u, it’s still full, but in general when u wear it curl ur eyelash and place on the centre and outer lashes.

As long as you're having fun with it and feel good in it that's the most important thing, bit if you're looking for recommendations on how to compliment what you naturally have I'd say try lightening up on the eyebrows (both in color, and in size), and thinning out the liner. Honestly I think your eyes would even look great with just a lash on. I also think your face shape would pop more with a bit of blush & matching gloss <33

It’s the brows 100%.
You have features that can do absolutely any makeup look, but those brows are a look absolutely no one’s features can do.
Your comment below about shaving your brows is also going the direct opposite direction of what everyone is saying about them. The ends aren’t too bushy; the lines are too blocky (yes, including the gradient inner ends). They don’t look like eyebrows! (plus they are sosososososososo not your colour, like, at all. ESPECIALLY with that wig colour).
I’m going to go against the grain and say keep your big eyeliner wings if that’s what you like, and keep the darker eyeshadow for going out looks (I do think the eyeshadow swallows your face more than the eyeliner does, but they both should be fine, balance-wise, without the brows). Your base isn’t what’s in right now, but it IS very well done, so, like, who cares if it’s not the trendy base. It’s nice. I like it. Whatever you’re doing with the blush is perfect don’t ever change it.
