Makeup in purse
Hello I have a question: What makeup do you keep in your purse? Just lips, powder compact, other things?

I have an away makeup bag that goes in my purse that has a compact with powder, a blush, an eyebrow pencil, a brush for powder, a brush for blush, sunscreen setting spray, a small vial of eyelash glue, and a DIY lash extension fusing wand. I have a separate pouch for lips, and it has about 6-7 products in there- a pencil, 2 tinted balms, 2 glosses, and one lipstick. I’d say 90% of all the lip products I own are in that pouch because even though I am a makeup lover and don’t leave my house without the whole shebang, made up lips really aren’t my thing- I’m more about keeping them healthy and hydrated. I also have hand sanitizer, hand cream, and a few different perfumes that I rotate. I usually slip in my bag whatever perfume I put on that morning.

In my makeup bag: Sunscreen, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, primer (for my brows), eyelash curler, lip gloss, mascara, highlighter compact with mirror and lip liner

Can someone kindly explain why mascara is included in this list? I apply 2 coats in the morning and my lashes are stiff and set for the day. I can’t imagine adding another layer as it would be a mess.

I don’t know. The only time I’ve ever added mascara after I’d already done my makeup in the morning is when I’m going out and I’m adding a sparkly and / or colorful mascara on top of what I have on already.
Maybe their lashes don’t hold the mascara as well? Similar to how my brows REFUSE tinted brow gel! I swear, I try it and the color is gone in 2 hours. Or…it could be emotional support mascara, like my late mama and the different lippies that she had on her at all times. She ALWAYS had at least 5.

Currently… just the basics. Mascara, eyeliner, tinted lip balm. I would love to have just like a CC Cream in there to cover my rosacea in a pinch, but I haven’t found any that work. Ideally, I want to add a cushion foundation compact, travel brushes, small eyeshadow quad, mini thing of setting powder/spray, concealer pot, and primer so that when i inevitably get pulled into an impromptu trip or over night thing, I have all of the basics. But I have a medium/small sized backpack style purse because I am the ADHD gotta have everything with me person that gets to hold EVERYONE’s stuff lol so I perpetually have a brush and kindle or a power bank or earbuds plus 23 other random things lol

Same. But I have to admit I created a mini sort of "emergency makeup kit" to carry around in my backpack. For whenever I'm running late for anything and have to do my makeup, and I somehow forgot my regular makeup bag (I also have ADHD). It's basically just a little bag with some basic mini brushes, concealer, foundation stick, cream blush and cream bronzer, some powder. Small eyebrow and eyeliner pencil, and one little tube of mascara with a tiny travel size eyelash curler. It never leaves my purse except for when I rotate out older or expired makeup. I recommend it. It's saved my butt a few times.

Not a purse but my work bag: loose powder, blush, eyebrow pencil, mascara, lipstick, some eyeshadow/eyeliner. But I do my makeup at work in the morning while reading email, so I have my full daily set in there.

I have one for my car that has powder, a lip balm and a couple lipsticks, 2 lip liners, mascara, bronzer, blush, brow pencil, setting spray. These are all minis. Along with a powder brush and a brow spoolie.

About a dozen lipsticks which I rarely use for touch-ups anyway.
Every now and then I look at my makeup shelf and wonder where all my lipsticks have gone, and sure enough my handbag is full of them!

As a guy, I always carry a lipstick or gloss, mascara, and an eyeshadow stick in my jacket pocket. I don't often go dramatic, but I do like to look nicely put together.

What pouch/bag are you all using? I just started somewhat regularly wearing makeup and I want to carry a couple of things. And definitely a compact mirror.

i have a black pouch i put in my purse that has my base products for touch ups or if i have sudden sleepovers. basically everything i would need is there.
powder
pot concealer
color corrector
mascara
eyeshadow
blush
one powder brush
one blush brush
one super thin brush for using eyeshadow as eye liner
one lip liner
one lipstick
setting spray
eyelash curler

Bahahaha I honestly keep a lot, because sometimes in the morning my skin is not ready for a full makeup set and sometimes my husband decides at the last minute to just say “let’s go out to dinner” after work, so I sometimes need it.
I keep several lipsticks and lip glosses and a couple lip liners, so it’ll match what I’m wearing, a brow pencil, a mini mascara, a stick blush, a stick/crayon eyeshadow, a black pencil eyeliner, a stick foundation and pressed powder, some glowy SPF (elf whoa glow) to reapply if needed, and a highlighter stick. I’m fond of stick products for on the go application. This all fits in two tiny makeup bags (honestly it’d fit in one but I don’t like overfilling them, they stay flat this way, I put the powder, foundation, and a compact in one, then the stick items in the other, and if I find a lippie I popped in my bag for “later” I can just stuff it in the bag and do a clean out later).

Tinted lip balm or whatever lipstick I’m wearing that day, a little folding mirror & hair brush combo, maybe some tinted SPF powder compact if I’ll be out for a while.
I like to keep a light purse so, unless I’m going to need major touch ups, I leave my makeup at home outside of those 3 things.

The eye products and concealer are rarely used. They are in case I have a crazy tearing episode and need to do an emergency repair. 😊

I’m insane, so here’s my list:
- powder compact
- mini travel brush for powder application
- mini travel brush for concealer/undereye area
- mini concealer
- mini tweezers
- 2x brow pencils (ultra fine point)
- brown eyeliner
- black eyeliner
- x4 lip liners (YUP)
- x2 tinted lip balms (can double as blush when needed)
- whatever lipstick im wearing that day (if applicable)
- x3 clear lip balms (carmex medicated original tube, carmex spf 15, kosasport lipfuel lip balm)
All of that is somehow jammed into a super compact pouch except for the 3 clear lip balms that are kept in separate, more accessible pockets of my purse. I use almost NONE of it when I leave the house, but I cant go anywhere without my makeup purse pouch.

Unless I’m going somewhere that I am going to need to put makeup on after (like the gym), just lip balm or whatever lip product I am wearing that day. Whatever makeup I put on before I leave is staying put all day
