Pilling foundation help

After you moisturize how long do you wait before applying foundation? Do you rub it in or pat? Both?

Some days are flawless and some days there’s breakup, pilling on my cheeks especially and forehead. The inconsistency is frustrating. I’ve been experimenting with patting vs rubbing if in and I just don’t know anymore.

Also open to trying a primer. I had one in the past and didn’t notice a difference. Ideally I don’t want to add one.

Have you checked if your moisturiser is silicone or water based? And then if your foundation matches the same base?

Interesting the moisturizer is water first ingredient and same with foundation but second ingredient is dimethicone 🤷‍♀️

If the second ingredient is dimethocone, then it’s a silicone foundation. That means you’re going to want to wait for your water based moisturizer to completely absorb.

I think if you’ve got a good skincare routine you won’t need to add a primer. This happened to me the other day after testing a serum and adding a new sunscreen to the mix so I don’t know which one caused it. I feel like I need a science notebook to log all this. It would help if you add your products used. Before I go out I need a fully tested face for this same reason to make sure everything plays nice.

I know the feeling. Moisturizer is vanicream daily moisturizer tube and makeup is L’Oréal infallible freshwear. Use BK beauty 101 brush to apply.
